Title: Just tell me how much I butchered it Post by: zerofive on March 01, 2013, 03:17:43 PM Villain is decent, don't know that much about him, just know that he doesn't know much about me. He seems competent, talks a decent game, can value bet well, grinds hypers online, but over the last few sessions seems to have called off way lighter than he should. I think he thinks I'm tilting a bit.
Villain raises MP to £3, We're in sb with Ad Ac and call bb calls. Flop (£9) Qd Td 4h check, check , Villain bets £7, we call, fold. Turn (£23) Qd Td 4h 3d We lead for £18 and he calls. Feel like we look like we're bluffing more than we're value betting here, like we're repping a hand we don't have but in reality we beat loads of his turn calling range River (£59) Qd Td 4h 3d 8s We think for a minute and jam for £75 effective. thoughts? Title: Re: Just tell me how much I butchered it Post by: DMorgan on March 01, 2013, 03:29:01 PM Unless you think the BB is going to squeeze a ridic %age of the time I don't see any reason to not 3b, especially when he thinks you're tilted? Just give him the chance to peel a range we obv do pretty well against or occasionally 4b bluff. People love peeling all sorts of shit in position as well you know!
Not really sure why you'd lead the turn when you're currently repping a pretty weak range that he will often barrel against and there are very few horrible rivers for our hand? Think about the range that he continues with vs your turn lead in comparison to the range that he can continue with when you check. Not sure why you want to turn your hand into a bluff on the river. With little/no history I think its pretty optimistic to think that you get many/any calls from worse. (http://newempressmagazine.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/texaschainsaw1.jpg) Gotta 3bet pre. If you do flat pre, check raise flop. Guess turn lead and river jam isnt too bad since most players are terrified of flushes so wont vbet thin when checked too Title: Re: Just tell me how much I butchered it Post by: tight4better on March 01, 2013, 04:26:00 PM Don't think pre is so bad considering who the BB was.

RLOL Title: Re: Just tell me how much I butchered it Post by: stato_1 on March 02, 2013, 11:22:50 AM Not 3betting pre really is a total disaster. No idea why you wouldn't. Post flop if you feel like doing the betting yourself is the best way to extract value, then raise flop rather than call/donk turn. If you're calling flop then check calling again seems best.
Title: Re: Just tell me how much I butchered it Post by: cambridgealex on March 02, 2013, 02:16:24 PM I was bb in this hand, would've squeezed a high% you're right, but my hand was too good to turn into a bluff (had J4s) so just flatted.
Title: Re: Just tell me how much I butchered it Post by: stato_1 on March 02, 2013, 02:28:49 PM Well yeah ur maybe squeezing higher than an average amount, but not a big %. Like still <20% comfortably

I would've done, perhaps even a higher % than I would've 3bet funnily enough! i mean that if you flat I can just flick it in for £3 or whatever and see a flop which is fun for everyone, but if you 3bet then I can't really see a flop anymore so I might find the cold 4, esp seeing as I had so much momentum in that game and could get HU vs you deep IP which would be a yummy situation for me :D Title: Re: Just tell me how much I butchered it Post by: rfgqqabc on March 02, 2013, 06:38:20 PM + Alex is a guy who is potentially likely to cold 4 as well. yeh this. Wouldn't accuse you of being chainsaw happy tbh, feels like your winning enough otr. Title: Re: Just tell me how much I butchered it Post by: jgcblack on March 03, 2013, 01:07:30 AM Any particular reasons for being passive pre with AA oop?
Even with that fish in the BB, its an easy mandatory 3bt pre. When we accidentally click call then its easily rectified with a Cr otf. Vs some weaker players I might like the turn and river, but these are the badge wearing, spectacled gentlemen you've seen who never fold to bets but always to raises. (this is an actual player type - the not folding to bets, but easily fold to raises) In conclusion - Butchery at 80% Title: Re: Just tell me how much I butchered it Post by: SuuPRlim on March 03, 2013, 01:07:00 PM re-visit the basics.
Good hands = big bets. You have the best hand, no need to get fancy. |
