Title: Do we stick it in Langley's eye?
Post by: tight4better on March 03, 2013, 09:43:07 PM
DTD300 deepstack. My image is on the looser side of the table I feel however I'm OOP to Ben Vinson and some other sicko's so trying to pick spots carefully.

This is my first time ever playing with TL who I respect massively, figure he'd think I wouldn't be FOS vs him in pots.

We open  Aspades Tc to 17k at 4k/8k UTG+1 Playing 400k, TL covers.

Folds to someone who's been very peel happy and generally quite weird in CO who calls, TL peels BTN.

 Ahrt 2h Kc

Bet 28k, TL calls.

 Th

44k, TL calls.

 Ks

Feels like if I overbet/jam/pot this river I'm massively polarised to boats+/air.. Felt the right line was v close between this and c/fold?

You?

Stack size might be slightly off, maybe 350k I can't quite remember..

With loose image I would muck ATo pre.

Don't you feel his range is also quite polarised?  Kd Td KJ KQ has to be in there, how many of these hands is he folding if you jam?

Likely the same with for example  8h 9h,  Jh 9h (though maybe TL would squeeze here with a hand like this if you are viewed as loose) ......... woh wait a minute, let me insert a quote....

can't possibly believe this, but even if true, you aren't beating much here.

Check and pray he checks behind, obv folding when he bets.

I just can't think of many hands he has got to the river with that he is folding if you jam it in his eye

He's never nutted so is 100% never calling a jam UNLESS you've got history.

Like the jam.

Really think it's terrible calling me with bare K on this board, deffo don't think he has any bare kings in his range at all. Doubt he'd use this spot to just randomly start calling me down with 2nd pair on a soaking board. Would think he'd fold a large amount of his range if I jammed for basically his tourney life in this spot.

Why? I'm only nitty when I'm playing stations, the table was v tight apart from Ben and Dan

Really doubt he has any of these

He folds these on the button when 'loose' Nik opens?

Don't think he gets to river with KJ / KQ and think he folds K10 otr for a 150-200% pot jam

Does he also squeeze  Jh 9h/ 8h 9h? If so, we be jamming here then

Knowing what TL had, I guess he would have had to fold..... what did you put him on?

I meant you are doing well to be one of the looser players at the table when you are OOP to Mr Vinson...... with a little bit of your 50/1 tightness thrown in there ;)

Think jam is ok hope he doesnt have KQ with 1/2h

Dont really feel like any K should fold if it got here.

Check raise all in could be a nice line.

TL not gonna give them away in liveaments where we b/b/jam i presume. Dont really want to get into levels tho.

135k do same as jam here?

100% agree with this, think there is way too much leveling going on tbh - Just check decide on river? - how the hand has played out, I would say you are either chopping it up or beat.

Would literally never jam this river vs said opponent.

I disagree, think he would quite happily peel these hands, also QJ/AJ/AQ even, he has the button and your both playing deep, he's no reason to play for stacks at this stage?

whats in the water these days lol. Everyone wants to triple range merge and turn hands into bluffs - JB must be contagous.

Lets keep it simple..

we beat ~2.5% at best of his entire range (that's very optimistic btw) (will be chopping with some very small % but he has no need to use those chops as bluffs)
his range is relatively open, agreed AA/KK and AK are pretty unlikely but Kh Qx/Jx/Tx all very legit, Kh Xh, and virtually any hh combo he'd peel pre-flop 56 / 67 / 78 / 89 / 97 / 86 as is AQ and AJ.

Now he will fold some of these to a bet, but exactly what frequency he has what hand and how much of his range he'll fold is extremely difficult and you're risking a lot of equity in this comp playing guessing games. abso no need.

Just let the man have his pot, once in a blue moon he'll check and we might get our money back, that'd be nice.

think langley would fold a non nutted flush here if you jammed. kinda like it.
