Title: Short Stack Ninja please advise.... Post by: ruud on March 03, 2013, 10:03:19 PM £300 DTD Deepstack. I had a very similar spot to this in last months deepstack and was unsure then as well, so thought I would ask for hero advice on here
We have not been at the table long. We ran up a big stack on our opening table, feeling good throughout, outdrawing Kinboshi, abusing Herbie's big blind etc etc etc Me and Kinboshi had about 40k for ages ;) Got up to 75k, lost a couple of big ones, and have ended up down at 24k at 800/1600/200 Moved to table Julian Gardner who has mountains of chips, as does Ali "Bag of Bollox". At least one of them is in EVERY hand. We have been here about one and a half orbits UTG+2 shoves for 10k, Julian folds, Ali flats the 10k, folds to me in the BB with 6d 6h We? Title: Re: Short Stack Ninja please advise.... Post by: ruud on March 03, 2013, 10:14:56 PM Abusing my BB was fine. Abusing my 3 bet sucked :) when your range is exclusively JJ-AA, then 6c 7c felt like the absolute db's ;) Title: Re: Short Stack Ninja please advise.... Post by: StuartHopkin on March 03, 2013, 10:17:31 PM Defo fold once Ali flats

99-77,55,AJs-ATs,KJs+,AJo+,KQo - guesses of flat callers range? guessing he ISO TT+,AQs nearly 100% 33% each if...... UTG+2 has 22+,A2s+,K9s+,QTs+,JTs,T9s,A5o+,KTo+,QTo+ i think i'm probs not folding. we have a pair, and most likely both are looking to match with the community cards. Title: Re: Short Stack Ninja please advise.... Post by: Killerkilsby on March 04, 2013, 09:34:49 AM Personally id be folding with 15bb and a table where you can get called off lightly there will be better spots.
You are 100% flipping vs at least one of them, could be flipping vs caller but crushed by OR. There are much better spots to come im sure of it, your stack is still going to damage the bigger stacks and you wont be called mega light. Id def be waiting for a better spot, if uncalled then this is a closer spot imo. Title: Re: Short Stack Ninja please advise.... Post by: Killerkilsby on March 04, 2013, 09:35:40 AM 1010+ i struggle to fold here though.

But yes would like to discuss the hand more and the table in general.... Put it in the diary! Title: Re: Short Stack Ninja please advise.... Title: Re: Short Stack Ninja please advise.... Post by: kinboshi on March 04, 2013, 01:19:23 PM You've got just under 9 effective-BBs here? It's a pretty meh spot really, and think that the maths will be close between the shove and the fold, but think I'd rather fold and be the one 3-bet shoving or open-jamming instead when the opportunity arises.
You do have about 40K, so aren't that desperate ;) Title: Re: Short Stack Ninja please advise.... Post by: smashedagain on March 04, 2013, 01:22:55 PM I wish you'd have hung onto your 40 bigs and stopped a bit longer. Had to play a hand were he on my big bling instead of the customary 1 bb I ended giving him 20 or so

This was what I thought exactly pretty much. And if they miss I have 60k which is bang on average and we can start again. 1010+ i struggle to fold here though. also thought about this and thought I def call with 1010 and 66 is the same as 99 here, so did a mental coin flip to see if I call with 99...... OR had KJ, Ali had Td Tc and I was surprised he was that strong, but probably just a misread from me. Anyway, OR hit a J anyway. Never mind, always next month :) Thanks all Title: Re: Short Stack Ninja please advise.... Post by: cambridgealex on March 04, 2013, 11:48:08 PM 99 is defo not the same as 66 btw ruud
