40% and 15% - Wow! And there was us thinking our campaign, and poll, to flatten the prize structures and reduce the deals was gaining momentum. Wrong!

But it's a new event, with a sponsor who is coming on board for the first time, so lets not be churlish. Anyway, Red-Dog is sponsored by the sponsors, WorldofPoker.TV, so I guess he intends to win it and leave everyone else to fight over second place. I hope he does!

I would love to play this comp, but it falls on a bad date for me, as I won't be home from Vegas in time. Pah!

As it's the Thistle Classic then I think the only sensible place to stay is the Thistle Hotel

 :D

Title: Re: Thistle Classic
Post by: Ironside on June 22, 2005, 04:51:42 PM
but the thistle is 2x the price

Title: Re: Thistle Classic
Post by: CoolHand on June 22, 2005, 05:21:04 PM
So that will mean it's twice as nice!  ;)

Anyway, after a long night at the tables, you'll want a lovely bed with lots of comfy pillows.

Plus, poker pros like you are worth a small fortune.

Aren't they?

 ;D

poker pro?

there wont be any pro there

wsop will be in its final week

its also clashing with a comp in blackpool

in fact it could be a HU comp between me and reddog

Title: Re: Thistle Classic
Post by: CoolHand on June 22, 2005, 06:15:58 PM
LOL!

 :D

In that case I should definitely try to get up to Glasgow for the Satelites. If I can qualify, I stand a chance of coming 3rd!!!!  (I wish!)

Title: Re: Thistle Classic
Post by: Ironside on June 22, 2005, 06:19:07 PM
if 3 of us start we each take the top up and you finish 3rd you get 150 2nd gets 225 first gets 600 and the 525 left over goes to the other 17 places in the top 20

Although it's great that Edinburgh are having a festival and this tourney is planned - I have to question the timing.  I going to miss Edinburgh as I'll be in Vegas and barring a miracle* I'll be coming back on the 13/14th - so I'll prob be too knackered to play in Glasgow.

*miracle = winning a place in the WSOP on willhill on Sunday AND still being in the WSOP on the day my flight leaves

"unless they were wrapped around fried mars bar and chips"

Believe it or not yesterday we saw a stall in LV selling the equivalent of a deep fried Mars bar.
