You will need to find out the make, then go to the manufacturer's website and download the drivers.

If you don't know the make then you are stuffed

blue tooth dongles will be mostly plug and play, so win XP will be able to run them without the software that came with it, as windows will search for it, that search will include the internet.

It seems obvious that you have tried to plug it in and see what happens; the next question is what are you attempting to connect to the blue tooth dongle? a mobile phone ? If so you may well need permissions from your phone rather than your PC for it to work, but more details are required for that. Blue tooth is a great invention but in truth not as simple as most think it will be, security is and I guess always will be a major part of blue tooth connections and when security is involved it can start to get technical

in add new hardware it should appear on the list somewhere, if not have a look in device manager (right click my computer, selectr properties and its there under hardware, look for anything with a yellow exclamation point and update the driver, hope that helps

when i plug it in it come up that its found new hardware usb device
the wizard then appears i click install software automaticlly it does its search then i get a msg that says
the hardware was not installed because the wizard cannot find the necessary software

click back if u have installation meadia such as cd rom or if u know of the location of software
