Title: Live PLO preflop spots Post by: cambridgealex on March 17, 2013, 11:20:31 AM Trying to learn games with more than 2 cards. Just a few preflop spots I came across last night in a short handed 2/2 game at DTD.
I know these are probably really trivial, just trying to get a feel for peeling ranges.I made these notes in my phone so sorry about the format. 3 limps for 5, wes makes it 30 from sb. I have KKJ7 in bb with KJdd. Call? Go three ways 842ddx wes leads 75. Bash is behind. 500deep. 3 limps for 2, wes makes it 12 from sb I have in bb A4ss59cc call? Wes limps utg on 5 straddle I am cutoff with A3hh64xx overlimp? Title: Re: Live PLO preflop spots Post by: rbc_mike on March 17, 2013, 03:22:47 PM I don't know much about PLO, but A4ss59cc seems like a hand that looks prettier than it actually is. I know you're short handed but drawing to 9 high flush draws can't be great, esp when deep. Poor connectivity too in terms of straight draws and wraps, only thing going for it is the ace high flush draw, so seems like a fold.
Overlimping seems ok with A3hh64xx, but I'm assuming that potting/raising to 20 would be better to iso, plus if he's been potting lots and now limping you're gonna win alot post flop with a simple cbet. Does he often raise from the sb?
hand 2 is a snap fold. You're OOP to everyone else that comes along behind - we have one weak flush draw, the 9 isn't a connector and you're gonna flop weak aces up or the underside of straight draws etc that just make it impossible to play profitably. LAG, likes to float and barrel with air, plays position well but finds a fold if played back at... Agree with the Greek ones points above Title: Re: Live PLO preflop spots Post by: Dubai on March 17, 2013, 06:02:59 PM If WES is as described then 3bet hand 1, 3bet/fold hand 2, Raise hand 3.
As played in hand 1 just raise get it in on the flop. Title: Re: Live PLO preflop spots Post by: SuuPRlim on March 17, 2013, 06:49:29 PM 3bet/get in vs Wes as described in hand 1.
Fold hand 2. Limpers to likely to come along to make 3bet viable imo Fold last hand also. Title: Re: Live PLO preflop spots Post by: dakky on March 17, 2013, 07:11:50 PM 3bet/get in vs Wes as described in hand 1. Fold hand 2. Title: Re: Live PLO preflop spots Post by: Dubai on March 17, 2013, 07:17:04 PM Cos its a pretty bad hand, raising is still better than folding imo, but folding better than overlimping
Title: Re: Live PLO preflop spots Post by: SuuPRlim on March 17, 2013, 09:06:57 PM yh would prefer to raise over than over-limp but seems impossible not to end up 4 handed minimum + the risk of the UTG limp pot. Weak hand with no high card equity and disjointed low straight cards, all it has going for it is a nut suit. Not a hand you wanna be tangling with 4way+
