Must suck supporting them. Title: Re: Appleton sacked? Post by: TightEnd on March 19, 2013, 12:04:07 PM Well at least it was 10 days more than Henning Berg
Nasty stuff. Title: Re: Appleton sacked? Post by: Alverton on March 19, 2013, 12:07:01 PM Title: Re: Appleton sacked? Post by: Acidmouse on March 19, 2013, 12:22:30 PM Steve Kean 4 win

Blackburn Rovers have sacked Appleton. New candidates: Harry Potter Mister Bean Postman Pat James Bond Tinky Winky Dipsy Title: Re: Appleton sacked? Post by: TightEnd on March 19, 2013, 12:48:08 PM I see Shebby Singh is at 25-1
Will the egotistical clueless one think he might just have a go himself? He has "coached" wiki.. In 2006, Singh coached a reality TV show football team named MyTeam, composed of amateur footballers. Singh took the team to a training stint to Manchester United's Old Trafford. The team was held to a goalless draw with the Manchester United Selection team.[citation needed] After the training stint in Manchester, the team lost to the national football team which was composed mostly of under 20 players. The team lost by a slight margin of 1–2. Again in 2007, MyTeam 2 was formed and the team lost to Indonesia national under 23 football team. The team lost 0–2. In 2007, Singh was appointed as technical advisor to Malaysia Super League club Melaka TMFC. He also had a brief stint as caretaker head coach of the club after previous coach Irfan Bakti Abu Salim was sacked. He only lasted one year at the club. Title: Re: Appleton sacked? Post by: Alverton on March 19, 2013, 12:59:26 PM I've been hearing Gary Bowyer will be in charge for the rest of the season. Which will avoid the whole 'every ex-player linked to the job' and also seen as the players actually like him as opposed to the previous two.
Title: Re: Appleton sacked? Post by: TommyD on March 19, 2013, 01:13:18 PM I bet Appleton doesn't feel like chicken tonight.
Crazy sacking from ownership who neither know or care about football and Blackburn Rovers FC. How they were ever viewed 'fit and proper' (along with a ton of other recent new owners) absolutely staggers me. Title: Re: Appleton sacked? Post by: George2Loose on March 19, 2013, 01:55:22 PM Baffles me why they wanted him in the first place
Title: Re: Appleton sacked? Post by: Sheriff Fatman on March 19, 2013, 02:00:35 PM Interesting stat:
Blackburn have had more managers this season (5) than Championship away wins (3). Title: Re: Appleton sacked? Post by: TommyD on March 19, 2013, 02:05:31 PM Baffles me why they wanted him in the first place He came out of Portsmouth with some credit considering what a mess they were in when he took over, more for how he conducted himself rather than results and was doing ok at Blackpool. Why he left there to go to Blackburn I don't know. That said I kinda agree as to why they went after him, it was an odd one. Title: Re: Appleton sacked? Post by: George2Loose on March 19, 2013, 02:11:51 PM Justice for getting rid of Allardyce IMO
Title: Re: Appleton sacked? Suppose getting 3x your pay for a couple of years and only having to work for a couple of months isn't such a bad gig? Title: Re: Appleton sacked? Post by: Alverton on March 19, 2013, 02:32:21 PM Baffles me why they wanted him in the first place Should never of hired him in the first place, after Berg being an awful choice aswell. Don't think I've witnessed worse football than under Berg, then Appleton arrived. Saying that, sacking both has turned club into a bigger joke than they already were and any chance of a manager with any cred will stay miles away. No idea who they can get for next season. The fans who were calling for Keans firing when we were sat 3rd must be feeling pretty silly now. Title: Re: Appleton sacked? Post by: George2Loose on March 19, 2013, 02:37:10 PM They just seem to be punting on young managers for no rhyme or reason
Title: Re: Appleton sacked? Post by: Alverton on March 19, 2013, 02:47:35 PM They just seem to be punting on young managers for no rhyme or reason I think the common theme is they don't have a clue. The leaked email at the end of last season summed it up, full of good sound reasoning and logic, and it was completely ignored. Then the person who sent it was fired. |
