Title: Macau Poker Cup and APPT Cebu April 18-28 - SOLD OUT Post by: claypole on April 02, 2013, 08:19:52 AM I have now updated schedule for admin following agreement from all stakers
As many of you know, I am currently in the middle of a short trip to SE Asia and Australia. It was always the intention to play the inaugural Wsop Apac - I love Melbourne and I arrive in there tomorrow to play a small schedule, Event One, non bracelet sides and grind a few sats...decided against just flicking $10k in main, which was Dubais advice. I am due to leave 17th April for home, however Pokerstars Live have inconsiderately arrange the Macau Poker Cup festival for 18/4-28/4. It's a great looking schedule similar to a UKIPT and upon discovering this and posting on Facebook a number of heroes said "You must go, it's awful - even you could win old man" About me I think most people know me here now...I'd say I am a slightly above average player, who runs good occasionally and has had some good online wins (historically) and good results from smallish sample size live in last couple of years. I also am very active on the staking board and have numerous financial transactions on here and am sure many would vouch for my integrity - including Tikay and Flushy who had a chunk of me at WPT Ireland last year. My Hendon Mob is available at: http://pokerdb.thehendonmob.com/player.php?a=r&n=164488 2012 was a weird year, back to work after a bad first five months of year on line. The year was good live, only played six events at £1000+ (Irish Open, WPT Ireland, 2x GUKPT and 2x WSOP) and final tabled two of them (unofficial final before Vinny is in WPT Ireland) took a horrendous day two beats at Irish Open, a solid day two GUKPT London and well, Vegas - like I always do. Bad. To give balance I also played six events over £500 and bricked them; however a healthy profit on 2012 - albeit redic small sample size. Solid results two years previous, altho Vegas not great and bricked a schedule sold in 2011 despite some deep runs. Highlight was being called retarded by Luke two tables out at Luton. Online; summary winning player for 5 years across all sites, absolute disaster and losing player 2012/13. I'd like to think its variance; reality is that may be some explanation, however games have got tougher, I stopped putting time in and working on game, went back to work - and think I'm just not good enough to beat the games I was playing, high stakes MTT without a ton of work and my brain thinking like it was ten years younger. I am on iPad so can't sort links all former glories can be found on OPR or Pocket Fives (Claypole) Party Hi Roller win, SuperTuesday 2nd, Microgamming Sunday major etc. So, basically I want to sell 25% of my action for the following schedule at the Macau Poker Cup. I am selling at 1.18 which after discussing with a few people think is very good value - I have no doubt will be much softer than DTD Monte Carlo unless Asian Poker has gone on a 12 month learning curve. However it's about reducing a bit of variance for me and helping expenses and I will be playing regardless as long as I make the trip. Schedule: Macau Event 2 $710 US, $5500HK Event 3 $645US, $5000HK Bounty Event 5 $1420US $11000HK Main ($5m HK Appt Cebu Main $2540 100,000 Php - swapped with Macau Hi Roller Total: $5366x1.18 = $6331.88 10% $633.19 5% $316.60 1% $ 63.32 In addition, as Hi roller swapped with appt Cebu, I have added the $6000HK$ event 8, $770 which backers have a opportunity to buy same % at spot. All agreed. stars preferred as its PS Live - claypole Pm if bank required. Finally, 1. In unforeseen circumstances should choose not to make trip and play, I will refund any buy ins and markup. Think this only likely to happen if I'm hating life in Oz Poker wise 2. All returns made a stars conversion rates to UK £ 3. Any other side events played in Macau do not part of stake. There some bowl comps I may play but not included, if a major issue for anyone you can have same % 4. There is a APPT final seat taken from prize pool in main, should we win obvious % rolled forward. Title: Re: Macau Poker Cup and APPT Cebu April 18-28 - SOLD OUT Post by: claypole on April 20, 2013, 05:28:40 PM Played Event Two today - the $5500HK freezeout. Got 150 runners and exceeded guarantee with another Day One tomorrow.
Structure pretty quick, standard was pretty average for a $750 comp. we bust level 7, gg - a cleverly disguised Ks Kh got us on a low board. I am firing another bullet tomorrow as the prize pool will be significantly bigger than the $6kHk or the $5.5kHK. Have advised all stakers. Gl us. Title: Re: Macau Poker Cup and APPT Cebu April 18-28 - SOLD OUT Post by: claypole on April 21, 2013, 02:13:45 PM Second Bullet Down. Doesn't merit a write up.
Onto the Bounty tomorrow. Details PMd. Title: Re: Macau Poker Cup and APPT Cebu April 18-28 - SOLD OUT Post by: claypole on April 23, 2013, 06:53:42 AM So we're 0/2......nothing worthy of a write up,no horrendous beats. Dwindled chips, was very turbo like with 7500 chips and 30 min level.
I'm glad implayed the first two, got a much better feel for the place now. DaBookie arrives in an hour or so so a couple of rest days which I am sure will involve red wine tonight and ready for Thurs. think pokerstarsblog will update if you need a fix. Main Event - regged Day 1c Thurs. Cebu Main is a week Wed. Title: Re: Macau Poker Cup and APPT Cebu April 18-28 - SOLD OUT Post by: claypole on April 25, 2013, 04:11:25 PM And gone level six of the Red Dragon main.
Played really well today, just got unlucky in a couple of key spots. Main one was button v BB when I flopped top pair with KhJh turned a flush draw and he back doored a straight with K8, pretty horrible and dropped me below 10k. Then ran into a house v same guy button v BB next orbit, I peel his raise with 88, 77Q board and I check call, turn 7, check check so I lead the river brick and he (just) calls, KQ. Got my last ten bigs in with A8 after two limps at 200/400 and of course the (only) utter clown at the table has limp called AK utg. We did turn a flush draw but bricked. Maybe could have waited as only had a blocker and pretty bad if called but it was 10 bigs and 1900 in middle when we're playing 4000. We have the $6k HK Saturday and then the $2440 main in Cebu next week. Reality is a min cash in Cebu will get us out and I am playing pretty good still. Hate these updates. More to come later in the week. Title: Re: Macau Poker Cup and APPT Cebu April 18-28 - SOLD OUT Post by: claypole on April 25, 2013, 04:39:45 PM Also guys, on Saturday we are due to play the $6kHK at 8pm. That was the extra one after we swapped the hi roller for Cebu. The hi roller is still Saturday there's a satellite at 2pm and it starts at 5pm.
As a few of you know I had a bink at weekend, and I feel bad about bricking first three, so I think I may play the sat on my own dime, it's about £280 one in ten. If I bink a seat, I'll keep you the same % in hi roller as you had in $6k. If we don't win a seat we play the $6k as planned and Cebu next week. Still feeling this boys....don't ant any arguments on above, it's leastbI can do. To soft for staking lol Title: Re: Macau Poker Cup and APPT Cebu April 18-28 - SOLD OUT Post by: FUN4FRASER on April 25, 2013, 06:57:05 PM Geeetttt It Shauny

Title: Re: Macau Poker Cup and APPT Cebu April 18-28 - SOLD OUT Post by: claypole on April 27, 2013, 06:51:51 PM Well onto Cebu.....I've sent the trip report on Facebook Fraser - cliffs
Had 50k ate end of level 4 from 10k starting Lost a 20k pot straight after break Ground back to 40k at 800/600 Lost a 80k pot with AdAh in a 3 bet pot on a 4c5c6d flop, drawing dead on turn Went out 50th, 25 paid Suffice to say I am not in love with Macau, the standard is pretty much as Pab said it was - we've just got the worst of it and onto Cebu. Last chance saloon, that's how it always works with these threads and fortunately it's the biggest buy in event. Gl us Title: Re: Macau Poker Cup and APPT Cebu April 18-28 - SOLD OUT Post by: claypole on May 02, 2013, 01:27:39 PM Well, the bad news is we only got 150 runners - shocker really as,250 last year.
Good news is we go back with over 40 bigs, 34k and just below average. Consciously made a few adjustments today and to be fair kept us alive. I chose not to three bet Aspades Kd on the button - went to a flop 3 way with big blind - we flopped straight, bb lower straight AMD raiser turned quads lol - we go bust for sure if I play hand like I would at home...lost min I'll update tomorrow how we fair. Title: Re: Macau Poker Cup and APPT Cebu April 18-28 - SOLD OUT Post by: claypole on May 03, 2013, 11:58:43 AM Bagged up at 82k, 26 left I think - we go back with blinds at 1200/2400.
All the payouts etc are at www.pokerstarsblog.com - obv I'll play my game tomorrow, we're not here to min cash and I'm sure you'd want that. Rough exchange is 60php to pound so about £65k up top. Played well today, won't bore you with lots of hands, suffice to say had to create spots; only showdown of note was when KK held v 88 to double us from 17k to 40k. Good luck us tomorrow. Shaun Conning Eliminated in 14th Place (PHP 176,000) posted 19 minutes ago Daniel Spence opened the action to 11,000, and it folded to Shaun Conning in the small blind. He moved all in for his last 62,000, and when it got back to Spence, he quickly called. Spence:9♠9♥ Conning: 10♥10♦ Spence had a good pocket pair, but Conning had him just barely one upped. The flop came Q♣3♠2♣, and Conning was still in front. This stayed true on the turn, the 2♦, but....well, you read the title, so you know what happened on fifth street. River: 9♣ Conning took the tough beat in stride, shaking hands with some of the players before making his way to the exits. After that hand, Spence is back up to 340,000. Daniel Spence 340,000 85,000 Shaun Conning 0 -85,000 Title: Re: Macau Poker Cup and APPT Cebu April 18-28 - SOLD OUT Post by: claypole on May 04, 2013, 11:46:31 AM £2756 at spot, which stars will be so 5% = £137.80.
