Title: Rolf Harris questioned
Post by: Tal on April 19, 2013, 10:58:26 AM

The internet has sadly been rife with this news since the interview under caution in November and there were reports he had been taken ill as a result. It has finally been officially reported.

Whatever comes of Operation Yewtree, and at whatever cost, no one will accuse those in charge of not being thorough.

Strange how the mind works. I hope in his case more than any other that this isn't true. It seems completely irrational, but there we go.

It does seem now that any dude over the age of 65 who has worked for the BBC is being arrested.

Of the many arrests how many have they actually charged?  Do they need any evidence to do it or does any complaint do to get a dawn raid?

standard reaction today that I can see has been

a) "My childhood is ruined"

and/or

b) "Two little boys"

and/or

c) "Can you see what it is yet?"

Not much of

d) Innocent until proven guilty around on social media....

Haven't been reading much of this recently, what sort of allegations are on the table? Sex with girls under 18? Under 16?

I obviously spend too much time dicking about on the internet as I was genuinely surprised by how many people didn't know Rolf was involved.

Yeah.

It has been the top search recommended whenever you typed 'Rolf Harris' into Google.

To answer the Q from Woodsey, AFAIK there is no suggestion it is under 18s.

This

Its going to get to the point where innocent people will not want to work with kids because of false accusations

Pretty sad state of affairs to be honest considering all the good Rolf has done for society

Pretty much the same Modus Operandi that 'Sir' Jimmy Savile used sadly enough.  Not too much of a difference to the MO used by priests and other esteemed members of society in positions of trust that abuse children.

Also that Gus dude out of Breaking Bad. Without the children, obviously.

As much as we need to protect kids from sexual predators not everybody that is accused is gulty...so for those innocent it must be a nightmare

Beckham has just taken an ambassador role at Sky sports and in his interview said he wanted to be involved because he" loves working with children"

Obviously completely innocent words but I couldnt help but thinking in years to come people could take his comments out of context  and start pointing the finger.

Sign of the f***d up times

Why is everything under the umbrella "Operation Yewtree".

Public immediately assume the alleged crimes have a connection to Jimmy Saville/child abuse.

It is going to make a fair trial (if it ever goes to court that is) virtually impossible imo.
