Title: iPad 1 or...
Post by: jjandellis on May 01, 2013, 12:45:48 PM
I've decided, at the risk of looking a super NIT, that I need a tablet to watch videos on whilst I'm playing live cash - namely a shedload of deucescracked vids I've been wanting to watch.

I've been offered an iPad1 for £150. 16gb wifi.

I don't need 3g as I have a smartphone and no intention to use the tablet for anything but videos...and maybe Stars...

Is an iPad1 fit for purpose, or a little outdated?

Is the price offered good value?

Would any of the other lower end tablets do the job for cheaper?

Thanks in advance for all advice!

Should be fine mate. I sold mine to my mate when I upgraded to a 3 and he is very happy with it, uses it for surfing and watching stuff basically. Not sure about the price, check ebay/amazon for comparison I guess.

Even though I am an Apple fanboy I think I'd buy a new Nexus 7 for £159 instead.

Either this or  get one of the ultra cheap generic tablets, because I'm pretty sure they'd still do this job perfectly well.

If you are gonna plump for an i-pad then try to get i-pad2 as the apple cover/stand does not fit the first version. It's a really well designed cover and makes a huge difference to ease of use.
