Title: OT - Recommend Some Music
Post by: NoflopsHomer on January 20, 2006, 07:25:53 PM
I pretty much always listen to my iPod when I'm playing online, so I thought we could have a thread to recommend bands/songs to each other.

The rules are 10 songs all by different artists/bands.

Mine are:

Son of Sam - Elliot Smith
Make It Rain - Tom Waits
The Skin of My Yellow Country Teeth - Clap Your Hands Say Yeah
The Party's Crashing Us Now - Of Montreal
Side 2 - Dressy Bessy
Emily Kane - Art Brut
Shake It For Me - Howlin' Wolf
Alan is a Cowboy Killer - McLusky
Run For Your Life - Robert Randolph and the Family Band
So Says I - The Shins

Rilo Kiley - It's a Hit
Buck 65 - Wicked and Weird
piney gir - Boston
NOFX - Idiots Are Taking Over
Johnny Cash - Hurt
Bright Eyes - Laura Laurent
Ben Folds Five - Underground
Alkaline Trio - Queen of Pain

Don't worry, I've only chosen bands I thought most people wouldn't have heard of, otherwise my list would be full of Talking heads, Beach Boys... Let's see your list!

I'd be like that if I thought about my list...

Well actually I'd just spend hours trying to narrow the list down and never actually succeed.

Stick me on the un-cool list, I've no idea who that lot are  :D

Last CD I bought was the Kaiser Chiefs album.  Very good indeed.  I don't iPod, although the wife does.

If you're ever looking for music to tryout try www.pandora.com it really is great, you simply put it your favourite bands and it looks for similar music. I was sceptical at first but it is good!
