Title: Thank you Sir Alex Post by: George2Loose on May 08, 2013, 09:44:51 AM I know he's a very divisive figure but love him or hate him you cannot argue with the passion, will to win and success he's had over an extremely long period of time.
Thanks for everything Fergie Title: Re: Thank you Sir Alex Post by: Tal on May 08, 2013, 09:53:18 AM I'm sure he will thank you when he logs in and checks blonde.
:D Title: Re: Thank you Sir Alex Post by: George2Loose on May 08, 2013, 09:58:37 AM What else is he going to do in his spare time?

Wonder if Jose is coming to Old Trafford, that'd be a coup. Title: Re: Thank you Sir Alex Post by: redsimon on May 08, 2013, 10:14:59 AM What do you think about him joining the Board? Echoes of Matt Busby? We all know what lead to...
Title: Re: Thank you Sir Alex Post by: GreekStein on May 08, 2013, 10:51:48 AM As a Chelski fan I've enjoyed hating him for 20 years but only in a healthy way and I have the greatest respect for what he's achieved

Title: Re: Thank you Sir Alex Post by: Tal on May 08, 2013, 11:01:28 AM As a spurs fan, he did a fine job of stopping @r$£nal winning the league when they were at their best and stopping Chelsea buying the league over and over again.
Thank you, Mark Robins. Title: Re: Thank you Sir Alex Post by: david3103 on May 08, 2013, 11:47:32 AM So many special memories from his time at OT, but I have to give pride of place to the moments that spawned my wife's bon mots as the celebrations began on Wednesday 26 May 1999

First the war, and now this" Title: Re: Thank you Sir Alex Post by: Acidmouse on May 08, 2013, 12:48:01 PM Take away his footballing achievements ~Fergie imo is a solid man, big Labour supporter and union man. Always time to help new managers and people.
Title: Re: Thank you Sir Alex Post by: RedFox on May 08, 2013, 01:57:22 PM Love him or hate him he did the business with United and Aberdeen.
I hope he has a long healthy retirement. Title: Re: Thank you Sir Alex Post by: BorntoBubble on May 08, 2013, 02:16:50 PM Thanks sir Alex I have never known united without you an its going to be weird seeing someone else in the dug out! Hope whoever it is gets the backing they deserve!
Title: Re: Thank you Sir Alex Post by: Yian on May 08, 2013, 03:19:06 PM Would he have retired if he didn't win the title this season?
Title: Re: Thank you Sir Alex Post by: nirvana on May 08, 2013, 06:28:02 PM Glad to see you go go go go goodbye
Title: Re: Thank you Sir Alex Post by: Matt.NFFC. on May 08, 2013, 06:47:17 PM Thanks Alex, for beating us 0 - 1 in the FA Cup 3rd round with that Mark Robins header when you were allegedly 1 game away from getting the sack!
Ruined my childhood that did! Title: Re: Thank you Sir Alex Post by: George2Loose on May 08, 2013, 07:00:35 PM Would he have retired if he didn't win the title this season? Was wondering if he would've gone last year had United won it Title: Re: Thank you Sir Alex Post by: Yian on May 08, 2013, 07:26:09 PM I kind of felt he was just waiting for 1 more. First priority to have more titles than Liverpool, but then you don't leave when your biggest rivals win the league, so regaining the title and making it a nice round 20 made it a perfect time to retire.

Blimey. Thanks Vince. I asked Tighty this question on Sunday, & he came up with a VERY different figure, unless I misunderstood him. Sir Alex must be a very wealthy man, unless he has some serious spending habits. Wow, we have something in common! so much so that he kept the autopsy report by his bed... If I told you I had a copy of the Warren Report on my bedside table, you'd probably not believe me, but it's true. Right alongside "Abuse of Power, the Watergate Tapes". Each to their own, eh? I was completely unaware of that when I made that Post. What were the chances of that? And no, my copy of the Warren Report was not signed by anyone. Pfft. My copy of "Abuse of Power" must be the tattiest & most dog-eared book I possess, not helped by its sheer bulk, & the amount of times I have read it. In the history of daft things, nobody ever did anything dafter than Nixon setting up a system to tape every convo in his Office.* It was that which led to his demise. * On second thoughts, the whole Watergate affair was probably the daftest thing ever ever ever. Ferguson is fascinated with JFK. He said he kept JFK's autopsy report by his bed. He also has a copy of the Warren Report signed by [the former US president] Gerald Ford. Title: Re: Thank you Sir Alex Post by: Tal on May 14, 2013, 10:12:58 PM I sleep arm's length from my Billy bookcase. However, not an autopsy, nor a conspiracy theory to be found.
Title: Re: Thank you Sir Alex Post by: MPOWER on May 15, 2013, 07:19:42 PM Sir Alex Ferguson's hip replacement operation has been cancelled after a bladder problem was diagnosed after he pissed himself watching the F.A Cup Final.
