Title: It's a TV Sport shake up Post by: TightEnd on May 09, 2013, 12:32:43 PM http://www.btlife.bt.com/entertainment/bt-sport-to-be-free-with-bt-broadband/
BT Sport will be free to any consumer BT broadband customer – the first time in more than 20 years that weekly live matches from the Barclays Premier League will be free to watch. The three BT Sport channels – BT Sport 1, BT Sport 2 and ESPN – will be packed with world class sport, including 38 exclusively live Barclays Premier League matches, as opposed to the 23 ESPN offered. This includes 18 of the best quality ‘top pick’ matches which for the first time ever are not all with Sky Sports. BT Sport will also offer matches from the Bundesliga, The FA Cup with Budweiser on ESPN, Scottish Premier League, UEFA Europa League, Serie A, Ligue 1, MLS and many more. BT Sport is also the new home for domestic club rugby with exclusive rights to televise up to 69 live Aviva Premiership rugby matches per season (previously shared between Sky Sports and ESPN). In 2014 BT Sport will also be the new home of MotoGP with exclusive live rights to all the Moto GP races (Moto3, Moto2 and MotoGP) of the season (18 GPs). This includes all Warm Ups Practice and Qualifying live (previously on the BBC). We have also added top women’s tennis from the WTA, exclusive rights to UFC Women’s Super League football, Australian ‘A’ league soccer and action sport and lifestyle programming from Red Bull Media House. Only one in five UK homes currently take a sports channel – possibly due to the high prices that have resulted from there being little real competition, so we want to increase the number of customers enjoying high quality sports on TV. Ian Livingston, BT chief executive said: “UK Sports fans have had a rough deal for too long. Many have been priced out of the market but we will change this by giving away BT Sport for free with our broadband. Sports fans are the winners today. You’ll be able to get BT Sport direct from us via our own TV service, on Sky’s digital satellite platform and also online or via a new App letting you enjoy the channels on the move or at home on your PC, smartphone, or tablet. In addition, Premier League referee Mark Halsey joins BT Sport in August in a brand new role in the commentary team working across the channels’ football coverage. Title: Re: It's a TV Sport shake up Post by: AdamM on May 09, 2013, 01:06:06 PM Had a panic when I heard the UFC deal was ending with ESPN July 31st, then breathed a huge sigh of relief when I heard this new channel had not only the fights, but extra UFC content too.
Hadn't heard anything about it being free to BT broadband customers. I just switched from Virgin to BT Openreach this spring. Result :) Title: Re: It's a TV Sport shake up Post by: horseplayer on May 09, 2013, 01:27:10 PM tim lovejoy

Maybe with some work he can become less dull.
Interesting idea, and certainly a USP for BT broadband! Shame they've not mentioned any Rugby League amongst their offering. Challenge Cup this weekend and the BBC are only showing one match. Title: Re: It's a TV Sport shake up Post by: Acidmouse on May 09, 2013, 02:26:57 PM 1meg with BT where i live, no scope for infinity so non starter for me.
Title: Re: It's a TV Sport shake up Post by: Longy on May 09, 2013, 02:30:03 PM How does Tim Lovejoy keep getting work? In the glory days of soccer am, I would have defended him to the hilt. Unfortunately it turns out his "character" on soccer am wasn't an act. Title: Re: It's a TV Sport shake up Post by: millidonk on May 09, 2013, 03:48:52 PM BT sure offer broadband where I live.. Farce.

Maybe with some work he can become less dull. Interesting idea, and certainly a USP for BT broadband! Shame they've not mentioned any Rugby League amongst their offering. Challenge Cup this weekend and the BBC are only showing one match. He had a winner at Chester, in a race he has been wanting to win. He even looked boring celebrating Title: Re: It's a TV Sport shake up Post by: mulhuzz on May 09, 2013, 04:00:45 PM obviously Virgin Internet >>>>>> BT where I live (not even close, 120MB vs like 4 or something idk) so the important question is.
Can haz all the BT Sports via Virgin? Or are they saving a channel or two? Title: Re: It's a TV Sport shake up Post by: superwomble on May 09, 2013, 05:58:38 PM Owen, Lovejoy and Halsey? Not sure when I'll stop laughing!
Title: Re: It's a TV Sport shake up Post by: doubleup on May 09, 2013, 07:18:56 PM The free service starts August 1st - my speed is ok 8-10, I wonder if it will still be like that if half the neighbours are watching a Celtic match. Title: Re: It's a TV Sport shake up Post by: The Camel on May 10, 2013, 12:01:26 AM Any news of MLB and other other US sports that ESPN America currently offer?
Title: Re: It's a TV Sport shake up Post by: tikay on May 10, 2013, 12:09:32 AM Any news of MLB and other other US sports that ESPN America currently offer? Keith. I'm not sure if the link below works, but I currently subscribe to ESPN, & this is what they sent me. Having read it 197 times, my eyes are bleeding, & I'm none the wiser really. I THINK it means "unlucky son, after July you'll need a BT Broadband if you want what was ESPN". http://tv.espn.co.uk/gb/espl/faq/espn-and-bt/ Title: Re: It's a TV Sport shake up Post by: The Camel on May 10, 2013, 12:19:47 AM Any news of MLB and other other US sports that ESPN America currently offer? Love watching a ballgame or two during the summer months. Title: Re: It's a TV Sport shake up Post by: JaffaCake on May 10, 2013, 02:08:23 AM Had a similar question on NBA games? Sky have shown a few on Sundays in the second half of this season but mainly games are on ESPN. Maybe the contract is up for UK NBA games next season? Bit of a farce, only bother paying for ESPN for the NBA and the season's over in four weeks...u have to give four weeks notice to get rid of it?!
Title: Re: It's a TV Sport shake up Post by: Dino on May 10, 2013, 06:57:54 AM BT will charge non BB customers £15 month to watch the channels on Sky,so £5 a month more than ESPN charged and no free multiroom.
