There has been an uplift in male blindness in the Hiighstakes UK poker community. Pros such as Cambridge Alex admitted as early as the first week of May that "he misread a hand" whilst playing on line. There is no reasoned explanation for this, however it could also be the reason that there wasnt a single UK player to make a SCOOP final table in 2013.

Experts have been brought in to test eye sight of UK pros and reasoned it was particularly worse in the dark. Eye testers also remarked how many of the patients repeat the phrase "flip dat shit" then being tested with vision paddles. Also asking "can I get a lollipop" when the tests were complete was a regular occurrence.

Lets hope that they fair better in the WSOP and that these eye sight problems dont affect their live game

Very first hand I played I held an ace and was thinking that was low, I was betting hard with what would have been a good low hand. I lost and was wtf, so I had to go and check the rules, of course the name of the game should have been a clue.  ;ashamed;  :D

After 132 separate tournaments this year's SCOOP has broken all previous records and handed out an impressive $75,585,305 in prize money.

Concluding yesterday with its three Main Events, SCOOP 2013 has been the richest ever and given a number of recognisable pros a series bankroll boost.

Indeed, the likes of Benny Spindler, Daniel Negreanu and Dan Kelly have all added virtual titles to their already impressive CVs.

However, for all their success there was no doubt that everyone’s eyes were on the conclusion of this year’s Main Events.

Perhaps the most intriguing finale was the $10,300 Main Event which had smashed its $3,000,000 guarantee by $2,800,000, thanks to a total of 580 entrants.

By the close of Day 1 a total of 73 players, including Justin "ZeeJustin" Bonomo (93,238), Jake Cody (24,627) and Viktor "Isildur1" Blom (412,539), were in contention, but as “4rebmun” bubbled in 73rd place, it was Blom who thrived.

While Cody hit the rail in 71st place for $19,140, Bonomo eventually fell away in 17th place for a respectable $46,400. However, as the field thinned it was Blom who proved that his talents aren’t simply confined to the cash tables.

Having started the final session second in chips, the Swede hovered amongst the top stacks throughout the finale before asserting his dominance in the closing rounds.

After watching Noah “Exclusive” Boeken dominate for much of the final table, Blom soon found his time to strike and after eliminating Ravi Raghavan and “zcedrik” in 6th and 5th respectively, Blom found a new momentum.

As Mike “munchenHB” Telker and “cmontopdeck” fell away in 4th and 3rd, it was Blom who showed his heads-up prowess by battling back from a 3:1 chip deficit to beat Boeken.

With discussions of a deal expectedly absent, Blom proceeded cautiously in the first 30 minutes of the match, gaining a healthy stack of chips, before taking the lead. A gear change from Blom put the pressure on Boeken and after an hour of battling the decisive hand occurred.

A brief pre-flop exchange was followed by a Js Kc 9s flop. With Blom holding Qc Tc and Boeken Ks 5c all the money soon went in the middle and as the 9c and Ad fell on the turn and river the match was over and Blom the winner.

The win not only gave Blom his third SCOOP title but a top prize of $1,096,200 while Boeken claimed his second win of the series as well as $803,300.
