Title: Dtd multi way action?
Post by: corkeye on May 12, 2013, 09:36:22 PM
So on Friday evening I'm playing 50/1 cash at Dtd, there's a 3 way pot and one guy of the three says a comment about another players hand. 3rd guy in hand says 'you are not supposed to say that' and another person at the table not in the hand says very matter or fact 'at Dtd you are now allowed to say what u like in multi way pots'. Player who said this is a reg who plays basically every week so at this point I'm confused being semi reg myself. I mutter to the dealer that that's not correct, is it? He shrugs and says that he's heard people say similar and the boundaries are blurred!

Dtd ruling please, I think I'm right but wanted to make sure.

This exact thing came up yesterday and the floor ruled that people are now allowed to talk in multi-way pots

Ok then I'm confused by this rule as it can encourage collusion surely.

This is a joke rule. Basically it allows people to influence the way the hand plays out.

Hi Guys

I would always ask that if you have any concerns while playing at the club please speak to a supervisor or manager so we can deal with them while you're there.

We have always allowed speech play but obviously if it is deemed to be effecting the fairness and integrity of the game the dealer can call the floor for a ruling.

We will discuss the comments made here in our meeting this week and clarify the rule.

Cheers

ACES

For me you shouldn't be allowed to do this in multi way pots

More worrying is the fact the dealer didn't even know?  A rule/standing change is ok but needs to be communicated properly to all dealers and players imo

We're talking about a multi-way pot not a heads up pot, HU speech play is fine. You influence no-one's decision but your own.

But when I have AA vs 2 people (Let's call them Reg1 and F1) and F1 has AQ on Q22 and the reg comments that I play nothing but AA before folding and ending his involvement in the hand I don't want other players' decisions influenced.

Was it Kev the burgler?

He does that all the time.

Really dose this just not come down to the good old rule of " If you are I the hand you can say what you like, if you are not then shut up"

When I'm in a pot with Mitch and a recreational player, and Mitch is obviously very strong and the recreational player is likely to stack off to him, does this mean I am allowed to warn the recreational player of Mitch's very likely strong holding and to advise him against continuing?

If so, absolutely brilliant ruling  :)up
