Title: $3r/180 Post by: muckthenuts on May 30, 2013, 11:32:41 AM Have no stats and quite a few tables up so reads are meh. CO has been solid and not done anything visibly silly. I feel in game that he has played well enough so far to assume he will shove reasonably wide from this position.
SB screename is "lol@mybr" or something which i take to show at least some knowledge of the game. He also hasn't visibly donked around or anything. Preflop: Is it ok to just flat here and evaluate postflop over rejamming? Seems like a waste of a lot of bb's if i jam and the SB does have a hand. Flop i bet for protection essentially. Is this fine? Title: Re: $3r/180 Post by: wazz on May 30, 2013, 01:09:57 PM Think I'm folding pre. Pretty icky, but SB has to have some sort of hand and he also has to worry about you. If he had a weak hand he would probably be jamming to isolate rather than let you in, and his flat seems like he's trying to get you to jam it in or at least call with a hand like the one you have.
If I'm not folding, I'm just calling. We can probably get AJ, AQ and KQ to fold, but none of the pocket pairs that have us in trouble, and we can do something vs those hands postflop. As played I really like betting very small on flop and most turns and jamming river. Title: Re: $3r/180 Post by: theprawnidentity on May 30, 2013, 03:30:02 PM jamming pre all day Almost for me. This is one of those spots where I would need an excuse to fold. 100% never flatting. Shove or fold all day long imo. Title: Re: $3r/180 Post by: muckthenuts on May 31, 2013, 03:22:14 AM Just feels like i've punted off a bigstack pretty hard if i jam and do get called by the sb. Surely flatting pre and making postflop decisions for our chips is a more efficient way to play the hand?

Title: Re: $3r/180 Post by: wazz on May 31, 2013, 11:46:34 AM Not sure why you guys think SB is calling 9bbs with a range we beat? We might have odds to call but that would depend on never being trapped and getting to see all 5 cards.
