I like it up to his point and think this is a good barrel card and that you have up to 20 outs when called, a jam doesn't look especially weak even as an overbet because you'd probably play your sets and AK and QsQ-type hands like that as well.
Title: Re: Good old fashioned squeeze play Post by: cambridgealex on June 02, 2013, 03:39:52 PM i'd bet/call value hands rather than overbet jam them, so thought this bet size looked balanced, its also obvious im committed so does the same job, just looks less drawy and legit value heavy as well.
Title: Re: Good old fashioned squeeze play Post by: wazz on June 02, 2013, 03:44:12 PM Yeah I don't think it makes a huge practical difference, we don't (or shouldn't) have a b/f range with that sizing so it just comes down to what you think looks stronger. I usually prefer to overbet my value hands on this turn as it means we get full value when villain has a hand like 88 with 8s or something funky and c/fs a Q river or something, so when I have a semibluff I also go all-in. In the latter case with the added excuse of maximising fold equity! (you can have it both ways :) )

If you know these guys are going to call off a couple of bets before giving up a ton of the time then well played throughout. Title: Re: Good old fashioned squeeze play Post by: pleno1 on June 02, 2013, 04:00:22 PM fold pre, but size the flop so we can jam the turn with our range, we should have a turn jamming range rather than awkward spr bet. i made post about this somewhere in detail will try find tomorrow, basicallz im of belief tht if mtts had aa otf theyd generally size larger so thez could jam the turn, or be in a position to easily get stacks in.
Title: Re: Good old fashioned squeeze play Post by: wazz on June 02, 2013, 04:02:48 PM I think a squeeze is better than a fold pre.
I agree about flop sizing, make it like 900 and the turn is a more natural jam size. Title: Re: Good old fashioned squeeze play Post by: cambridgealex on June 02, 2013, 04:05:20 PM agree with sizing
