Title: Strange situation playing drunks at 1/1
Post by: jk1892 on June 05, 2013, 09:27:04 AM
Live 1/1 hold'em game
7 handed
Playing £650
Villain 1 £600 (very drunk, playing slots on his phone. Seems to have an idea of how to play though, just not massively well. not seen him do anything massively outlandish but hes won a few pots at showdown with J4/Q6 etc but hes always made good hands, not seen him bluff.
Villain 2 £120 (extremely drunk, been at the table less than 20 minutes and doesnt really have a clue where he is, open raised first hand £25 with aces and got paid off lost abit since then)

Villain 1 posts BB
Villain 2 raises £10 ep
Hero  Jd Jh raises £25 OTB
Both call
Flop 8s  Js Qd
Checks to Hero we bet £40
Both Call
Turn  Kd
Villain 1 bets £110
Villain goes allin for £60
We call
River  3d
Villain 1 Bets £85

Throughout the hand villain 1 continued to be playing on his phone, didn't take a seconds notice calling the flop and seemed to snap bet the turn, although he thought for a second before making the river bet. Villiain 2 is kind of irrelevent because he could have had anything was constantly moaning and was agonising over every call and stood up to leave on the river.
Thoughts on the turn? I thought it was pretty standard as although I dont really rate the opponant I think he can fold 2 pair alot as he didn't seem like he wanted to get stacked off. Do we ever raise?
Thoughts on the river? My plan was to call most blank river cards and reevaluate if a Spade came. If I got checked to I intended to value bet alot. His sizing is ridiculous though were getting 7-1 on the call so obv never folding but it looks so weak so do we ever raise here?

Temptation with drunk people is just to focus on your own hand, unless and until you can get a better evaluation of villain's MO.

You can assume a reasonably wide range and a slightly higher bluff ratio on the river. If he's streaming drunk, you can all but ignore bet sizing as an indicator of hand strength.

Wouldn't hate a raise on the turn tbh but as played call the river and tip the dealer well.

Call or w/e and then ask if they want to make it 1/3
