Title: Yian's WSOP package including Main Event Post by: Yian on June 07, 2013, 06:15:47 PM With it probably being an ill timed proposal because of all the debate about unjustified markup, I have 18% left on my schedule that I'm playing in Vegas which I would like to open up to blonde. The community has a right to be unwelcoming toward unfair markup in order to protect the integrity of the forum but I think in most cases it's more marginally wrong than unfair. I think my own main event markup is high to be honest at the price of maybe shooting myself in the foot but I've been selling to a live market therefore made a compromise between the price I could sell at to the live market and what price an online market wouldn't raise an eyebrow at. For me it means being able to play more tournaments comfortably increasing my chances of winning and besides, the markup becomes irrelevant providing we bring it all home.
I wasn't sure if I would attempt to sell on blonde as I have only just crossed over the 300 post threshold. I thought I'd wait and see if I naturally make enough posts with enough time to spare. Most people here know me, I've played with most blondes multiple times at DTD or elsewhere therefore feel comfortable that people won't mind me making a proposal as a newly made Sr. member. This will be a big investment on my behalf mainly because of the main event which I've decided to play this year being as things are going well, and I can't guarantee myself that I'll be in Vegas next year or the year after with the chance to do so. I've been playing MTTs for a while, at times only MTTs although this year I have focussed my attention more on live cash games and the transition has gone very well and it's because of them I'm in a position to go to Vegas for a little over a month this summer. Regretfully this account is not in profit Some non-giant network accounts played whilst backed last year - (http://yfrog.com/scaled/landing/858/lxeb.png) There are more accounts I've played on with either little profit or little loss but nothing worth showing. My profits this year have primarily come from live cash games. I am flying out on the 15th June and returning on the 17th July. I will be staying in a private home with other players away from all the distraction. Some of my house mates are playing schedules much bigger than mine, so I can reassure the focus on the task at hand. Selling 50% of a package which consists of the tournaments listed below. Saturday 22nd June WSOP #40 $1500 Monday 24th June Venetian $600 Wednesday 26th June Venetian $500 Saturday 29th June WSOP #53 $1500 Sunday 30th June WSOP #54 $1000 / Aria $1080* Wednesday 3rd July - Thursday 4th July WSOP #58a/b $2222** Monday 8th July WSOP #62 MAIN EVENT $10,000 Wednesday 10th July Caesars Palace $1080 *I will pick either the the WSOP #54 event or the tournament at the Aria hotel on Sunday 30th June depending on which I think looks better on the day. If I decide on playing the $1000 WSOP event then the $80 extra the Aria event would have cost will be refunded. ** This tournament is a $1111 buy in, however it is an unlimited re-entry tournament. I will allocate 2 bullets for it as implied by the $2222 and any unused bullets will be refunded. Any buy ins for tournaments not played will also be refunded. All tournaments are marked up at 1.2 except the Main Event which is 1.38 creating a total package worth $23,978. Is this your first time in Vegas? Think your honesty in op is good. Of the market was *fair* what markup would you sell at and how would you choose those numbers? Will you be playing cash when youre out there too? Team blog would be v v v good to rail. Gl. Title: Re: Yian's WSOP package including Main Event Post by: Yian on June 07, 2013, 07:00:09 PM Sick house. Is this your first time in Vegas? Think your honesty in op is good. Of the market was *fair* what markup would you sell at and how would you choose those numbers? Will you be playing cash when youre out there too? Team blog would be v v v good to rail. Gl. This will be my 2nd time in Vegas. I went in October 2011 for 1 week. I played 4 tournaments and made ft of 3 of them finishing 3rd, 8th and 9th and won most cash sessions too. I enjoyed that trip a lot but I anticipate going during the summer will be a new experience. It's pretty hard to talk about markup when there's no suitable formula to work out what it should be. There are too many variables, i.e a person's results to date against their volume and I think their momentum leading up to whatever it is they are playing is pretty relevant too. It can never be totally fair, a person's popularity seems to factor in as well which doesn't really have anything to do with their ability. I think auctions are ok, letting the market itself decide can't be a bad thing. As for the WSOP, markups are all over the place, packages from stato and rutter look like the best value and there's local people in the casino who haven't even played a 1k comp, yet are charging £100 per 1% of the main event and selling out. I will be playing cash but only 1/2 possibly 2/5 even though it plays smaller than my regular game. The reason is to take a low variance approach when the tournaments are probably high variance with so many runners and also to sustain morale for the tournaments. If I sell 5% more between now and Friday, I would like to offer everyone who has bought through this thread a freeroll in the form of double equity in "the mini one for one drop" i.e having 1% of the package means having 2% of that tournament, having 5% means having 10% of "the mini one for one drop" Title: Re: Yian's WSOP package including Main Event Post by: Eso Kral on June 12, 2013, 11:18:23 AM Shipped £387.50 to bank mate GLGLGL

What's incredible is that 3 housemates have made 4 finals between them in these Rio comps that have 1000+ runners in just over a week. Congrats to them that are already on the scoreboard, the pressure is on for me to do the same.
We moved into the house on Wednesday; Our stay at the Wynn was very nice and cash games have been good there too. (http://img96.imageshack.us/img96/5113/7vhz.jpg) Running bad at the stt's at the rio. It's common to do last longer bets in these too so they've been expensive, for example I was 3 handed for 5k in lamers and 1.4k in last longer bets ($200 7 ways) and couldn't hold when I got it in good. A notable at this table was James Woods, academy award winner. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000249/?ref_=sr_1 (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000249/?ref_=sr_1) Running good in Chinese though :) (http://img838.imageshack.us/img838/8449/3i3p.jpg) Anyway, congrats again to Liam, house morale is good and hope it continues. Title: Re: Yian's WSOP package including Main Event Post by: Yian on June 25, 2013, 07:50:52 PM Skipped the 600 at the Venetian yesterday, I think I made a mistake putting it in the schedule; the ones with multiple starting days are the good ones, this isn't one of them. I'd like to replace it with the $580 event from the carnivale of poker which is today, or wait for a weekend Venetian. Probably play today if I like the look of it.
Investors have option to refuse this and take refund if they wish but only if they make it clear soon. Sorry about the short notice, I'd imagine its fine with everyone though. As for the one tournament I've played so far, I busted the 1500 wsop event on saturday shortly after dinner break, peaked at 2.5x starting stack before busting. Title: Re: Yian's WSOP package including Main Event Post by: DungBeetle on June 25, 2013, 09:46:43 PM Happy with the change to schedule Yian.
Title: Re: Yian's WSOP package including Main Event Post by: Eso Kral on June 25, 2013, 10:13:48 PM Happy with the change to schedule Yian. Title: Re: Yian's WSOP package including Main Event Post by: Yian on July 01, 2013, 11:00:27 PM Sorry for the lack of updates, there just hasn't been anything too interesting going on. I've have only played 2x $1500 wsop events and have skipped 3 other tournies as far as the package is concerned. 2 being the Venetians in the weekdays which I'd like to find better tournaments to replace them, I haven't as of yet, I didn't end up playing the Carnivale one, and I skipped yesterday's 1k at the aria, I wasn't feeling very well and didn't want to take a chance on it when I felt that way.
Played a $2.5k event at the M resort called the Hollywood Poker Open, day 1 was going very well and had 130k at peak but had a horrendous last level and made day 2 with only 48k. I took a $55 taxi back to the place the next day to bust, not making the money. So that was pretty tilting. That tournament wasn't the value everyone thought it would be as word seemed to have gotten round to a lot of the pros and they too showed up to try and take a piece of the 500k guarantee which was smashed. $320k ftw, won by Ana Marquez. Played with a few big name pros like Bryn Kenney, Griffin Benger, Pratyash Buddiga and Giuseppe Panataleo. Next tournament is the "mini one for one drop" Title: Re: Yian's WSOP package including Main Event Post by: titaniumbean on July 01, 2013, 11:03:08 PM lol marquez runs bad over small samples
Title: Re: Yian's WSOP package including Main Event Post by: pleno1 on July 01, 2013, 11:05:01 PM lol marquez runs bad over small samples Surprised Bryn didn't take over on final Title: Re: Yian's WSOP package including Main Event Post by: Yian on July 04, 2013, 11:23:37 PM I've decided not to play the one drop due to not feeling well. I'm sorry this package has not gone to plan and of course all refunds will be sorted promptly when I'm back in England. I wouldn't risk my own money or other people's money on tournaments when I'm not 100%. I'll make a decision on the main event soon, depending on how I feel. Sorry again to buyers who bought because they expected 8 shots at a return and now find I have only played 2. It could be the heat, it could be exhaustion but I really don't feel good.
Title: Re: Yian's WSOP package including Main Event Post by: DungBeetle on July 05, 2013, 02:12:35 PM No problem Yian - sort when you get back. Good luck in Main if you do play.
Title: Re: Yian's WSOP package including Main Event Post by: bobAlike on July 05, 2013, 03:14:36 PM No probs.
Wiii I'm getting money back from Vegas :) Title: Re: Yian's WSOP package including Main Event Post by: Yian on July 07, 2013, 12:10:26 AM So that's gg Vegas for me. I've bought a new ticket and fly home tonight, it cost me a bomb but felt I had to get back. It pains me that I've decided not to play the main and that this package has gone amateurish to say the least. Refunds on the way in the next couple days. I would of have suggested roll ons and such for anyone interested being as I was planning on the big event in Galway and some other tournaments soon. But with being ill right now, I can't be bothered to think about anything else.
Title: Re: Yian's WSOP package including Main Event Post by: Eso Kral on July 09, 2013, 02:11:43 PM No probs Yian and hope you are ok buddy but am happy to take my returns in $$ if you are still holding them lmk when back mate.
