The villain is a very sticky, quite technically poor reg who has only appeared over the last week or so, and displays very fishy tendencies. What do we think about our options on the river considering the fact that his sizing suggests a very depolarised value range which may not be strong enough to call a shove. That being said, he has barrelled 3 streets so the least he can have for value is KQ. SO here are our options: A) Call. He may not be able call a raise with a range which doesn't beat us, so maybe raising is just making his bluffs (if any) fold, and towning ourselves Vs. a strangely sized higher set on the river. B) Move all in for $106 into $75.05 so he will be facing a $89.40 call into a pot of $164.45 (getting 1.84/1) C) Min raise to $34 so he pretty much HAS to call any Kx and may curiously call some other random pairs he's shown up with (QQ/AJ) however implausible that may seem. He will be facing a $17 call into $92.05 (getting 5.41/1) D) Make a medium sized raise to $48-70. Thoughts? Any arguments about his range being very AK/KQ heavy here due to sizing? Happy to hear thoughts in terms of game theory and just what you think works in practise at this level since that is often more relevant than GTO stuff when we are playing at levels where the regs are fundamentally poor-ish. Title: Re: $100nl Rush spot facing 3 barrels. Post by: muckthenuts on June 18, 2013, 12:43:17 AM I will go D because missed spades and his sizing definitely suggests he has something, with villain as described like AK/KQ/KJ/22 may all look us up. Guess we then fold to a jam.

Title: Re: $100nl Rush spot facing 3 barrels. Post by: Honeybadger on June 18, 2013, 01:05:30 AM Yeah I'd move in, particularly against this villain.
I'd raise the flop though. Gotta get building that pot! (against most other villains I would just flat flop probably) Title: Re: $100nl Rush spot facing 3 barrels. Title: Re: $100nl Rush spot facing 3 barrels. Post by: wazz on June 18, 2013, 06:34:00 PM Easy B, we're not really concerned with how often we get called so much as the sizing when we do get called

Title: Re: $100nl Rush spot facing 3 barrels. Post by: Bully87 on June 18, 2013, 06:43:18 PM All depends if he's the kind to stack off with one pair like it's the nuts.
His bet OTR is either value towning you or the more likely trying to showdown one pair. Lots depends on how you think you are perceived too. Most of the time I just jam this vs fish but this board is pretty dry. Didnt really give an answer so I'll go with jam and a probable sigh if we dont get called. Title: Re: $100nl Rush spot facing 3 barrels. Post by: Nit Tendencies on June 18, 2013, 07:11:09 PM Ok, it seems like everybody has gone with B, which is what i did.
Thanks for the input, I like to throw some more "standard" spots into PHA every now and then. Title: Re: $100nl Rush spot facing 3 barrels. Post by: Pinchop73 on June 18, 2013, 07:23:44 PM Raise turn to add some strength to our turn raise range?
Title: Re: $100nl Rush spot facing 3 barrels. Post by: Nit Tendencies on June 18, 2013, 07:32:44 PM Raise turn to add some strength to our turn raise range? I think our perceived raising range on the turn is already really strong on this board texture because of the relatively dry nature of the flop, so it doesn't really need strengthening, although I do like the idea of having a raising range. Post by: pleno1 on June 19, 2013, 01:02:48 AM Yeh I think raise turn smallish ripping that you're trying to get to cheap sd he will ship some kk that he check calls some rivers with and shove some draws that he b folds or c folds river whilst calling down stubbornly with a wideosh range too
