Hi everyone,

Let me give you some background to this.

Basically we loved St Kitts, and we were over the moon with how it went - what a way to have a 5 year party and I have never seen poker players have such a good time in all my involvement in poker.

Nick opened negotiations with St Kitts Marriott almost as soon as we arrived back in the UK to do it again in 2014 - but during those negotiations we (and St Kitts Marriott) were approached about the possibility of joining our St Kitts stop with Puna Cana and St Maarten and forming a Caribbean Poker Tour, with the added bonus of WPT/Ipoker being involved.

However, we then became immersed in the ISPT project and over the course of the last few months it became apparent that the St Kitts leg would be a little too expensive to add to the other two confirmed Tour stops, as we know, St Kitts is one of the more pricy islands in the Caribbean - that's a pity but I believe we will return to Sk Kitts at some point in the future - I feel it.

The good news is that we are now getting fully behind Puna Cana and St Maarten, with all the usual DTD activities and hospitality. Last year we ran the Caribbean sats over the Boss Network which worked well for us, but I am sure these sats will be more successful over ipoker and generate more players - it would be nice if we took a lot of DTD players and recreated the great atmosphere of last November.

More details will be available over the coming weeks, we will have our own Caribbean web site that will keep players updated as we make plans and decide how we can give DTD players the best possible experience.

Looking forward for some Grand Prix Golden Chip winners to free roll into the Caribbean again (the next Grand Prix to be announced shortly) :)

To be honest, after the first half of 2013, I certainly need some Caribbean sun to look forward to myself, that's an understatement.

Cheers Rob

Funnily enough the Sonesta Maho in St Maarten was the first place I ever played poker live after missing a connecting flight to Curacao.  Would be fun to go back in a decent tourney.

Just had a look at the nightly sats and they haven't been promising the amount of seats guaranteed so far. Just been 1 seat for each.

Me and JP went over last year and we had an absolute BLAST. IN terms of actual fun it was one of the best trips I've been on poker-wise, loads of great people, good value tournaments played some sick cash games, got a tan and Rob/Nick/Simon and everyone looked after everyone brilliantly.

Cant recommend enough seriously brilliant for family's and a great laugh anyone and everyone would love it.

I will be there!

I was lucky enough to freeroll myself into this last year.

Can honestly say it was one of the best holidays I've ever had.
The DTD team were always on hand to answer any questions and the whole event was run like clockwork.

Ill be trying my absolute utmost to win another package. Totally thrilled that Rob and the gang are running this again this year! !!

In the package it includes hotel for 2 people but what about the flights? It doesn't say if it's for one or two people. The flights seem extremely cheap for 2 people.

Hey

We try our best not to make last minute changes however some changes can not be helped.

We haven't got any CPT live satellites scheduled at the moment but as soon as we have we will try to keep them consistent for you :)

yes them. Last time right up to the time of the event there were changes etc, questions about structure etc, the guarantees were the only reason myself and a few others even bothered coming up from london.

So just to get this right about the speed poker idea

- you need to play on the speed poker cash tables on dtd ipoker
- you get points based on the number of hands played/ number of hands raked * number of hands won ???  (stakes has no influence at all)
- the people coming top 10 each day get the prizes mentioned

??

Hey

Yep you need to play via DTD iPoker on the Speed Poker Cash games.

Stakes don't have an influence at all as it's a fun promotion and compliance won't allow us to base it on stakes.

The daily prize is only for the top player for that day but the top 10 prizes are given for the overall top 10 point scorers over the whole of the promotion (15th July - 8th Sept). If you finish say 1st and 2nd you are only eligible for 1st place only, 2nd will go to the player with the next amount of points (you'll only show once in the top 10 leaderboard)

Any other questions fire them over :)

Cheers Nicola

So this isn't the prize for a single day?

If I'm getting this right it actually is for a single day? Just more days played more likely you are to win (obv)?

effectively if you only played for 1 single day got to the top of the leader and stayed there for the duration and no one over took you then yes you could win it with 1 single days play...I think that's what is being asked.

Sorry to be stupid, but can you please confirm how the points are worked out for the leaderboard, its just based on the most hands played in one day?  Im confused ???

Title: Re: DTD Caribbean Poker Party 2013
Post by: Gary Oakes on July 15, 2013, 02:08:39 PM
I'll answer some of these....

1. Points are worked out based on a calculation.  We take (Number of Raked Hands / Number of Hands Played) x Number of Hands Won

So if you played 500 Hands, of which 150 were raked and you won 75 of them, your score would be: (150/500) x 75 = 22.5 Speed Poker Points

2. The player with the most speed poker points every day wins the $50+$9 Jackpot SNG Token, there are therefore over 50 of these to be won, and there is no limit to the number you can win.  So if player Tommysdad is the high scorer ever day for a whole week, he's win 7 x $50+$9 Jackpot SNG tokens.

3. The player with the most speed poker points earned in a single day throughout the whole promotion wins the CPT Package.  There is 1 of these to be won.  Yes you could play on one day only, create a high score high enough that is never gets beaten and win the €5k CPT Package.  Positions 2 to 10 are paid out to the players who gets the second highest single day score...and so on.  You can only win 1 leaderboard prize, so even if the player who wins actually also has the second, third, fifth and 9th highest prizes, they will only win 1st prize.  The next highest player gets second and so on.

4. Stakes are irrelevant

5. It is on all Speed Poker tables, NLHE and PLO

6. You CAN multi table.  Simply double click on the table in the lobby again and you will be sat down again.  Don't worry, you cannot be moved to a table where you are already sat.

Hope this helps!

Gaz

The magnificently named Cornucopia123 is our current Speed Poker Challenge leader on 33.88 points.  This puts Cornie top of the leaderboard and means he/she wins the first of 56 (fifty six) $50+$9 Jackpot SNG tokens.  The current Top 10 looks like this, so if the challenge ended last night, Cornie would claim the €5k CPT Package, RIVERKILL4 would be 2nd and so on.

It will ALL change by the time the promo finishes!

1 cornucopia123 33.88
2 RIVERKILL4 28.87
3 JGar5455 26.17
4 Rhino5656 24.19
5 TheWiseOne70 18.10
6 EvilGenius38 13.53
7 IllownU 9.93

Yes, but at the moment Cornucopia123 has the biggest single points scoring day...

Correct we've had 1 day so Cornucopia123 wins the $59 Tokie and is leader.  If for example player Rhino5656 gets say 60 points today and that is the most scored today, Rhino moves into 1st place with 60 points.  It is biggest single points scored in a single day.  Not cumulative.  I repeat not cumulative!

Well done re 2 points scored setting up HUD! I scored 11th having a play to ensure we got some data to check! And I doubled my money from $2 sit downs on 2 tables to leaving with $2.50 and $6.40! Helped by flopping the nut full boat on one table whilst flopping the nut straight shortly after.

Remember you can multitable at the same buy in, just double click, choose buy in and sit down, then do it again....and again...and again.......

Congratulations to yesterdays winner HST1 who wins the $50+9 Fort Knox Jackpot token for the 16th of July.

He goes top of the overall leaderboard but he can be beaten. Remember points are not cumulative and therefore the highest scoring player on any given day (00.00-23.59,) between now and September 8th 2013 will win the St Maarten package.

The speed poker games can now be found under the DTD tab in the lobby making them easier to find.

Best of luck

These numbers will get huge by the end of the promo. I played three tables of $5NL for maybe 20 minutes and made 13 points (and $5) so the two winners so far aren't even breaking sweat.

HST1 makes it two in a row.

He picks up another Fort Knox S'n'G token worth $50+9 and has beaten his previous highest score to remain top of the leaderboard!

This will run till September 8th so there is plenty of time to to try and beat the current high score and win the St Maarten package.

Current leaderboards can be found here:

Best of luck.

Unfortunately you can't move it as it's a direct feed, each satellite states which final it feeds into and we're unable to move it :(

That's the Hat Trick.

HST1 picks up another Fort Knox token but did not beat his current best score!

His score from the 17th however keeps him top of the overall Leaderboard.

Remember it takes just one day to take the top spot as points are not cumulative. So there's plenty of time and chances to win the St Maarten package.

Good Luck to those playing,
Glenn.

Hope this helps.

Its obviously not to help me, I just saw a tweet from Simon today referring to a Leaderboard, and (this could just be me), I always make the connection with rake race type challenges, which if anyone hasn't actually read the promo they might just infer

Hi Guys,

We have seen some changes to the leaderboards over the last week. JohnnyDTDCash has taken down two days in a row. He claims two Fort Knox Sit n Go tokens.

The current leader on the Overall Scoreboard is 5UCKMYFL0P.

He can be beaten however. Players collect Speed Poker Points for playing Speed Poker on DTD online.

Points are not cumulative therefore the highest score on any given calendar day (00.00-23.59) will go top of the highest points scorers.

Best of Luck.

Glenn

The current leader on the Overall Scoreboard is 5UCKMYFL0P as Glenn says above.

Simon has posted a link to the resort this morning...

As we keep saying the prize for the 5k package is not one based on cumulative points, its the highest daily points score so still up for grabs for anyone to put some big days in and scoop the trip....

We have a new leader!

Over the weekend JonnyDTDCash's persistence has paid off as he goes top of the overall leaderboard with 625 points.

The promotion will run till September 8th so there are plenty of days to try and beat the score and there is also a daily prize with a $50+$9 Fort Knox token up for grabs.

The leaderboard for highest overall scores and highest daily score can be found here > http://www.dusktilldawnpoker.com/speedpoker-leaderboard.php

ABOUT ST. MAARTEN:

'The island of St Maarten has 37 beautiful white beaches, crystal clear sea, bounty islands near the coast, palm trees and a tropical relaxed atmosphere. It is immersed by gentle trade winds and the climate is sunny and warm year-round. Average temperature during the winter season is 27ºC and a few degrees warmer and more humid in the summer with an average water temperature of 25ºC.'

Players can win and experience this as well as entry into the €1,290 CPT Open for just one days play on Speed Poker. JohnnyDTDCash is currently top of the leaderboard but scores are not cumulative so whoever scores the most Speed Poker points on one day can win the €5000 package.

Plenty of time to get involved.

Good Luck,
Glenn.

This weekend has seen a new name at the top of the overall leaderboard.

jamesmarriot has taken the top spot with 735.96 points, 110 points more than the previous highest scorer.

http://www.dusktilldawnpoker.com/speedpoker-leaderboard.php

He's done this from just one day's play, so anyone has the chance to beat him to try and win the €5,000 CPT St. Maarten package.

Good Luck,
Glenn.

Just 25 days to go.

Just one days play can win you a €5,000 CPT Package.

You could be playing poker, topping up your tan, and relaxing here:

We really are getting to the business end of this promotion now where, as already proven, it isn't all over yet.

Just when you think one top score has smashed the previous another comes in a day or two later.

These scores are based one just ONE days play as points are not cumulative.

Therefore there is nothing stopping anyone getting involved and trying to win the €5,000 CPT package.

You could be playing poker here..

Hi Guys,

Just a few days left.

I'm quite excited as this draws to a close to see if any potential big scorers have been holding back to see what they have to beat.

Remember it takes just 1 days worth of play (as points are not cumulative) to try and beat the current high score and win a Caribbean Poker Tour package worth €5000.

More info and the leaderboard can be found here:

Good Luck if your going to have a go.

Could someone from DTD explain what is going on with the Speed Poker Promotion.  We've gone from this

1st Place: If you earn the MOST Speed Poker points in ONE single day throughout the Speed Poker Challenge you will win an amazing €5,000 St. Maarten CPT Package, a 10 night Caribbean trip including entry into the €1,290 CPT Open.

2nd Place: Wins 5 x $180+$20 CPT St. Maarten Super Sat seats

3rd Place: Wins 3 x $180+$20 CPT St. Maarten Super Sat seats

4th & 5th Place: Win 2 x $180+$20 CPT St. Maarten Super Sat seats

6th - 10th Place: Win 1 x $180+$20 CPT St. Maarten Super Sat seats

To this

1st Place: If you earn the MOST Speed Poker points in ONE single day throughout the Speed Poker Challenge you will win an amazing €5,000 St. Maarten CPT Package, a 10 night Caribbean trip including entry into the €1,290 CPT Open.

2nd Place: Wins 2 x £336 300 Deepstack seat

3rd Place: Wins 1 x £336 300 Deepstack seat

4th & 5th Place: Win 2 x £115 Weekly Deepstack 100 seat

6th - 10th Place: Win 1 x £115 Weekly Deepstack 100 seat

With just an explanation on the website that

For Legal reasons we have not been able to run the CPT Super Sats therefore substitute prizes have been put in place above

I did make the assumption here that the satellite tokens quoted in $'s initially were actually €'s, as when the satellites were running on DTD, they were all in €'s, but clearly this is not the case based on the value of the new substitute prizes.  You know what they say when you 'assume'.

I just can't believe that this was changed on the website and no mention of it here or on the Facebook event page, both of which have been updated on a regular basis, promoting the challenge.

Hi Guys

just to put you in the picture we have been told by the UK Gambling Commission to withdraw the CPT promo due to the event being ran in a none white licensed country.

It really is a shame but we couldn't give players tokens to events that we can no longer run on our skin.

We still want to honour the prizes to the value of what was originally stated

I will check the values and amend if needed

Thanks for the response Nick.

Does this mean that any other iPoker skins running these satellites are breaking UK Gambling Commission rules, or have yourselves and Genting been singled out ?

Also, does this iimapct on the Golden Chip added value for the Grand Prix Final Table ?

Cheers,

Leigh

Well it does look that way but we have to take our own legal advice.

As for the promo - we are committed to a holiday as the prize so added value is all good.............

3,600 points up top - well done that man, going off my trial hour at the start of the promo (where I raised everything and won most pots) I make it at least 12 tables for 16 hours or so.

He fully deserves the prize if no one overtakes him

Hi

To clarify yes there is an event in the Caribbean in November however as we are regulated by the UK gambling commission our legal team have advised we must refrain from sending players to play poker at this event, it's not in a white licenses country.
Our promo will be for a Caribbean holiday......... So this isn't effected by this rule.

Golden chips will still be valid for a holiday to the Caribbean

Hope that helps

And we have our winners. Each of the top 10 win a prize ranging from the CPT Package to a £100 Deepstack seat.

In the early days of the promotion I got excited about a score of 145. Then when the serious scores started coming in it looked like we had a good competition on our hands.

1   NZtsunami                             3629.31
2   xMRENGLANDx                              3403.58
3   ch1paccrua1                              2835.85
4   Trophus                                      2068.74
5   jamesmarriott                              955.99
6   cornucopia123                              635.42
7   JonnyDTDCash                      625.39

I understand the need to change the prizes and this is unfortunate however it would appear they have been significantly reduced.

2nd place (for example) was 5 CPT super sat seats. These were worth 200 Euro each therefore 1000 Euro in total. Using todays rate this equates to £842.40

Now the prize is 2 x £336 Deepstack event. or £672.

I must be missing something as I don't see where this has been covered.

A significant reduction in prize money and I'm the only one that seems to have a problem with this?

Title: Re: DTD Caribbean Poker Party 2013

I did make the assumption here that the satellite tokens quoted in $'s initially were actually €'s, as when the satellites were running on DTD, they were all in €'s, but clearly this is not the case based on the value of the new substitute prizes.  You know what they say when you assume

The point being made is that initially the runner up prizes on offer were Caribbean Super Satellite seats, quoted as $180 seats.

These had to be changed, as DTD have explained. Not a problem there, but $180 Caribbean Satellites never existed, they were €180+€20 seats,  and I for one assumed this was the value on offer.

That would mean the 2nd place prize equating to €1000 of sat tokens.  This has now changed to £672 of DTD seat, not based on the euro value, but based on the dollar value (which was for satellites that never actually existed).

I think that is the reason why the question has been asked, unless sirperceval wants to tell me differently.

The difference between the prizes has been made up with DTD points in their online accounts which allows them to buy in to any tourney of their choice - did you miss that bit?

I assume this means the prize value 'package' remains the original value.

There was no reference to DTD points in the email confirming my prize. I can't check my account from this office but will look tonight when I get home.

Nicks post above refers to the US$ value not the Euro value, hence my post. Maybe you missed that bit ;)

Hi

I emailed all players yesterday regarding the runner up prizes as we have a £100 Deepstack this week and the majority of these prizes were a seat to this. As the prizes were advertised as $ initially we are honoring this difference and I will be contact those who are getting points on top of their runner up prizes to make up the difference within 48 hours, when they have been credited.

The seats into DTD events are not being credited to an online balance unless requested by the player to play an online Day 1. Those who have won seats just need to contact Nicola at least 24 hours before their chosen Day 1 to be put into the comp.

Hope this clears everything up,

Glenn

Sorry Glenn but no this doesn't clear everything up.

Take 2nd prize ( as an example)

Is the revised prize E1000 or $1000?

Title: Re: DTD Caribbean Poker Party 2013
Post by: DTD-Nick.W on September 10, 2013, 04:44:00 PM
We will as previously stated honor the full US$ value of all the prizes so this breaks down as:

2nd $1000 =£635 2 x £336 seats (£37 extra)
3rd $600 = £381 1x£336 seat + £45 worth of points
4/5th $400 = £254 2 x £115 seats + £24 worth of points
6/10th $200 = £115 seat + £12 worth of points

If anyone wants the points instead so they can play sats or buy in to other events just let Glenn or Nicola know.

Like i said before its very unfortunate that we had to remove this promo.

However the more days you play the more chances you have at winning the daily prize!

Why are people insisting the prizes are in Euros? Always said $ as this original post confirms.

Because the super sats are E180 + E20 to play where the prize is a E5000 package.

The $ was obviously a typo and now the 2nd-10th place prize have been reduced, and in my case this was AFTER I had put in my best score.

I have always highly praised DTD but this is very poor IMO.

I've never insisted the original prizes were in Euros.

As I've said before, I made the assumption that what had been stated in Dollars was in fact Euros, as the satellites that were running were €180+€20.

And why would DTD offer satellite tokens for $180+$20 when the satellites were actually €180+€20 ?

I really wish I had asked the question at the time about why the prizes were in Dollars when there weren't any satellites running on iPoker at those buyins.

I'm sorry you feel that way - the promo was always done in US$ to match up with the table stakes and also given the fact all the Caribbean events are in US$  there was no typo, i can now see how there may have been confusion as Ipoker sats have been ran in € however its certainly not intentional.
