Title: Runner Runner Rio?
Post by: tikay on June 21, 2013, 08:15:49 PM

Anyone know if the Runner Runner Rio story is true?

Actually, this is just a weak excuse to spam my latest Blog from Vegas.

Warning - contains some poker talk.

I saw it posted on 2p2 the other day with a twitter link.

Ironically I was in the exact same spot as the runner 2 weeks ago, in the same tourney but I couldn't run away from a stationary object.

Not so subtle brag post.

Enjoyed reading

This is bugging me

3339 with a suit having stone cold nuts three different ways on the river, I can get two obvious (to me) ones but not a third.

^Got it was on right path got there in the end

Reminds me of something similar "always have the best hand on the turn but can never win at showdown" what holdem hand and what board - can't remember that one either

^ Worked it out again/remembered

Board 9 9 9 2 2

Board 9 9 9 3 2

Board A K Q J T all same suit you have 9 and 3 of suit so no one can have higher flush or straight flush

Far more than 3 boards

How about?

32222

999xx where xx is not a pair higher than 9

32222 is a house of 3's which beat any house of twos

999 xx is four nines with a 3 kicker which can't be beat unless xx is a pair of say jacks which can make quad jacks.

yes it can.

99984

99952

any board where there's three nines and not a pair is the nuts. That's approx 2000 boards.

99976 where 976 are same suit and foe has T8 of suit for example. Any PP as xx over 99. Obviously more than 3 Tikay suggests but not sure theres 2000

Ooo yes, good spot.

Still not many straight flushes there.

Let's call it over 1000 to be safe :)

over 3 to be 100% safe, pesky Tikay. Was fun trying to work them out. Was asked the same question in an Orleans O8 game and no player thought of more than 3 though we were well into the cocktails :)

Think Tikay has ballsed up the question tbh.
