Title: % ROLL OR NOT ? OPINION PLEASE Post by: CHIPPYMAN on June 29, 2013, 01:03:39 PM Just say , u bought a small 5% of someone in the ME of the WSOP . He made the FT and going back to play again NOV. before the FT , there are always companies that are sponsoring players . Like of IveyPoker, PS , FT , and etc will want done players to wear their badges and paid like set amount of $$$ . And he gone on to win the ME , the company may give the player the sponsorship deal. My point is , do we as the person that bought % in that player get a share of his sponsorship deal . View please but correct md if I am wrong .

Title: Re: % ROLL OR NOT ? OPINION PLEASE Post by: rfgqqabc on June 29, 2013, 01:07:43 PM Not normally, no.
Title: Re: % ROLL OR NOT ? OPINION PLEASE Post by: CHIPPYMAN on June 29, 2013, 01:09:31 PM But do u think that is fair ? Considering that player may not played that comp if he/she didn't sell certain amount because he can't afford the $10k buyin ?
Title: Re: % ROLL OR NOT ? OPINION PLEASE Post by: pokerfan on June 29, 2013, 01:13:47 PM Most me sellers will stipulate that endorsements don't count toward the stake.
Title: Re: % ROLL OR NOT ? OPINION PLEASE Post by: CHIPPYMAN on June 29, 2013, 01:24:16 PM I know if that player is your horse , it will defo gain the % but just wanted to know about buyin % in certain player .
Title: Re: % ROLL OR NOT ? OPINION PLEASE Post by: Young_gun on June 29, 2013, 01:37:31 PM Doubt it will happen, but i would say No
someone has bought a stake in the tourney, the person who Final tabled already earned them some dollar so why should they have any additional bonuses? Title: Re: % ROLL OR NOT ? OPINION PLEASE Post by: pokerfan on June 29, 2013, 01:47:09 PM Sort it out pre tournament obv.
Title: Re: % ROLL OR NOT ? OPINION PLEASE Post by: CHIPPYMAN on June 29, 2013, 01:47:43 PM Good answer . This is not me aiming at players . I myself bought action and staked players . Curios
Title: Re: % ROLL OR NOT ? OPINION PLEASE Post by: jgcblack on June 29, 2013, 02:13:37 PM Good answer . This is not me aiming at players . I myself bought action and staked players . Curios Frankie, I don't think its generally taken that the sponsorship is included - EVEN for players you stake. Might be wrong here, we need more experienced stakers ITT but if your horse makes a main event FT I don't think you get a piece of the pie unless you've agreed that beforehand. OPINION PLEASE Post by: Doobs on June 29, 2013, 02:27:53 PM If the stakee hasn't specified, the staker has bought a percentage of all proceeds. There wouldn't be any point in putting the disclaimer in if that wasn't so?
A post event long run sponsorship deal would be different. Sort it out pre, as others said. Title: Re: % ROLL OR NOT ? OPINION PLEASE Post by: CHIPPYMAN on June 29, 2013, 02:30:51 PM It's a difficult situations if u look at the buyer prospective . But anyway I am just asking question and not aiming at no one .

OPINION PLEASE Post by: Royal Flush on June 30, 2013, 03:42:18 AM Obviously you have a share of the tournament and that's it.
Suppose you want your % of his food comps as well? Do you now also have to pay % of his massages/drinks/food? Title: Re: % ROLL OR NOT ? OPINION PLEASE Post by: SuuPRlim on July 01, 2013, 04:37:34 AM its very clearly only a % of the tournament I think it's very unreasonable to assume anything otherwise. How do you quantify the fair %, someone who is extremely charismatic and with already good results will likely yield a better deal than a shy retiring person with no previous results and no real media flair. My friend finalled the main last year and got a deal with 888.com, on the day after he finalled they gave him $10k to get a table at MArquee with and treat all his mates - if you had 10% of him does he now owe you $1k?
Lets spose you bought 25% of me in a cash game (I wouldn't have played if I couldn't have sold action) I met someone in that game who liked me and invited me to his private cash game and I won £10k - do you get £2.5k of that? Title: Re: % ROLL OR NOT ? OPINION PLEASE Post by: Woodsey on July 01, 2013, 04:40:02 AM I wouldn't expect it as a buyer.

Players who make the FT will likely get sponsorship beyond the simple badge-wearing payment, do you want a piece of them for life?

OPINION PLEASE Post by: Boba Fett on July 01, 2013, 08:00:16 PM This was an issue, I think for Rupert on 2p2, when he won an EPT and a seat to the grand final. If something is added but not actually taken from the prizepool then you dont have a piece with your share.
Pretty sure this is a different matter if you were his regular staker and put him in on MU Title: Re: % ROLL OR NOT ? It would be a pretty fiddly process to batter it as well lol, a few years back we had the genius idea of lightly battered lemon sole, which did not work lol :P Title: Re: % ROLL OR NOT ? Hope I can win that n brag that I am the best chippy in Mansfield ! Needed all the votes from my friends n customer . This is like winning a poker comp to me . One time Title: Re: % ROLL OR NOT ? OPINION PLEASE Post by: SuuPRlim on July 09, 2013, 06:25:28 PM you still doing Cod frankie? I've found it way too expensive last few years. Hake's been the best value, tastes pretty much as good as haddock imo, tried Pollack and pouting but pollack goes a bit darker when it's fried which doesn't look as nice and more distinguishable taste and Pouting I thought was good but its just so hard to get 6/8oz fillets out of them, would be perfect I think if we did more trade on kids/OAP portions.
Send me the link, i'l vote! Whos running it? Title: Re: % ROLL OR NOT ? OPINION PLEASE Post by: CHIPPYMAN on July 09, 2013, 06:57:51 PM you still doing Cod frankie?
