Title: River spot - All three options feasible?
Post by: stato_1 on July 03, 2013, 12:08:02 PM
Got moved to a new table in the Venetian 1k and had been here for 2 orbits. We're at 300/600/50. In these two orbits the villain in this hand has: Cold 4bet all in over my 3bet for 2900 for 50k with covering stacks behind and I have 30k, eliminated a guy who seemed to be his mate with AA vs AJ when the guy cold 4bet all in sb vs UTG+1 vs UTG+2 for 60 bigs, spoken portugese and worn a Brazil Jacket!

I open KsQs on btn to 1200, sb (decent seeming French guy) calls, bb (vammmoooo villain) calls.

(Pot: 4050)
Flop: Kh 5s 2h

Check, check, I bet 1700, sb folds, bb calls quickly.

(Pot:7450)
Turn: 7h

bb leads for 2.5k, I call

(Pot 12450)
River: 4c

bb leads for 3k... what does he have and what do we do?

KJ with J of hearts or K10 with 10 hearts, or Ah5d.

I would call river, I would say I'm losing to 75 or
A3hh something like that.

Think just never ever folding and whilst raising can be cool its a little thin

It's annoying when that actually do somehow have us beat here but I reckon I always call in these spots, doesn't look like a raise on paper but maybe that's a leak of mine. I think the amount of times a live player will show up with a better hand here is pretty unlikely and they're quite often just leading 3 streets with hands he doesn't know what to do with so just bets without knowing why. I.e. some K10/KJ, some pairs that pick up flush draws and maybe a hand like 34ss  if we are pushing the boat out.

LOL.

Seems a straightforward call here.

Think a call seems standard.  Not sure we get him to fold better OR call with worse by raising.  But what do I know, I'm just micro stakes pleb :D

Yeah, I think it's close between raising and calling tbh. I think if i click it back, he's not folding Kx, might level himself and call some other 1 pair hands, and feel like given his sizing we are rarely beat on the river.

Another hand I've seen him play actually (which is far more relevant to this one, not sure why I didn't include this in OP) is he peeled an UTG open with A9ss, checked to river on QQT54 and bet small IP on river and got called by A8s! Definitely him clicking buttons and not being a sicko though!

Think this makes it more of a raise tbh? He snapped off with 44 for a rivered set which was annoying

Think raising is really good vs this guy tbh. Struggling to find many hands he has which beats us as played with sizings and doesn't sound like he'll ever fold a top pair. Lol 44. Ul.

I would always raise vs this sizing vs this type of villain i think since he pretty much always has some pair with a heart.

Just make it like 7.5k, he'll quickly tell you if he has a better hand.
