Title: Hard to be beat yet hard to be winning :s Post by: lolwutwasthat on July 12, 2013, 10:42:02 PM 5/10/20button straddle at the Wynn, I start the hand with 11k and villian has around 35k.
Utg limps, utg1 raises to 100 and gets 3other callers, folds to me in the sb with Kc Js so I 3b to 530, OR folds and so does everyone else apart from villain who is 2nd last to close action. No real reads on villian except that he is Chinese in late 20s/early 30s maybe? Then again hes Chinese so he can be 50 for all I know. Flop is Jd 7d 3h I cbet to 640 and he calls Turn 2d Betting and checking is close here, but this time I elected to check and it goes x/x River is the Ahrt which now gives us a board reading Jd 7d 3h 2d Ahrt , I check and he bets out 1800, we?!?! Could be a hero, but longterm for them to bet the river when an Ace smashes our range so we shoild be behind alot here so fold Title: Re: Hard to be beat yet hard to be winning :s Post by: TL900 on July 13, 2013, 12:48:01 AM If you don't know what to do here then I think you should consider moving down limits. ;whistle; :-* lol Title: Re: Hard to be beat yet hard to be winning :s Post by: lolwutwasthat on July 13, 2013, 02:26:50 AM If you don't know what to do here then I think you should consider moving down limits. ;whistle; :-* Firstly it wasnt me who posted that, secondly the person who the quote was directed to is also my friend, but nevertheless cool story :) Title: Re: Hard to be beat yet hard to be winning :s Post by: SuuPRlim on July 13, 2013, 06:27:26 AM 5/10/20button straddle at the Wynn, I start the hand with 11k and villian has around 35k. Chinese in late 20s/early 30s maybe? This sounds like Frank (maybe George, but pretty sure it's frank cos he didn't bet $2500) He's sticky pre-flop with deep stacks like this and whereas he's defo capable of bluffing (he can go a little crazy sometimes) exactly what is he bluffing with, 8h 9h, 9h Th, 8h Th maybe, a naked 7? His Ax combo's are pretty thin, there is only 1 AJ suited but he might call AJo sometimes IP with these stacks + he's very capable of making thin(ish) value bets. Like he's got it in him to float the naked Ad and vallue bet now etc (not saying that's what he's doing) I'd be quite surprised if he checked a flush back but it's not IMPOSSIBLE. I think I'd fold cos whereas there aren't a huge amount of value combos jumping out at me the lack of flop calls that are legit bluffs now (I mean 7x and a worse J maybe trying to make you fold this hand or QQ IDK) combined with his ability to value bet quite well + I don't think we can beat any value bets now. I think if I could beat just one value bet I'd talk myself into calling here but for that reason it's defo a fold for me. |
