No surprises that cycling and athletics are the biggest. Surprised at skiing though, but its a sport I know nothing of so no idea how you can enhance performance. Title: Re: Sports Doping Infographic Post by: TightEnd on July 31, 2013, 04:45:38 PM what does the pie chart represent please?
number of positive tests? number of tests? Title: Re: Sports Doping Infographic Post by: outragous76 on July 31, 2013, 04:46:56 PM There is absolutely no chance that graph is correct (I note that there is no legend)
Weightlifting will be one of the biggest, as will swimming. Title: Re: Sports Doping Infographic Post by: kinboshi on July 31, 2013, 04:47:40 PM Thought swimming would be higher, but maybe a lower number of participants (at the top level) than the others?
But yeah, need some labels for the data. Title: Re: Sports Doping Infographic Post by: aaron1867 on July 31, 2013, 04:47:44 PM golf?

Beginning to come out in Tennis, particularly Spain Not sure what the graph represents, but assuming its positive tests (absolute) Title: Re: Sports Doping Infographic Post by: Doobs on July 31, 2013, 06:12:17 PM http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_doping_cases_in_sport (http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_doping_cases_in_sport)
Someone want to add them up? Title: Re: Sports Doping Infographic Post by: redarmi on July 31, 2013, 10:20:21 PM There is something wrong with that list it must be geographically specific because baseball and American football which both have problems aren't listed.
Title: Re: Sports Doping Infographic Post by: Skippy on August 01, 2013, 12:22:03 AM It's going to be cross country skiing rather than downhill skiing. There was/is a lot of EPO cases- it's a endurance sport like cycling.
Title: Re: Sports Doping Infographic Post by: theprawnidentity on August 01, 2013, 02:18:58 AM Equestrian? If you need steroids to get over a fence, you've forgotten your horse. Im pretty sure investigations by the Food Standards Agency would have shown anything untoward. Title: Re: Sports Doping Infographic Post by: swinebag22 on August 08, 2013, 10:41:17 PM Football and rugby are being masked IMO. In time the truth may come out. In football they don't even test blood and FIFA are not interested seemingly in changing their stance on this, preferring to still test urine and catch players for Rec Drugs rather than PE ones. Basically footballers are free to do blood transfusions (a lot of stories from Spain where it is standard practice) and in extreme cases take EPO. The Fuentes case in Spain allegedly involved blood bags taken from unnamed footballers. Follow "Giggs-Boson" on twitter for more accurate info on this topic. |
