Title: Cleanliness
Post by: Waz1892 on August 09, 2013, 11:20:37 PM
I'm staggered as to what I've heard today while playing the mini deepstack.

In my role as chair if governors at my local school, the above subject is rammed home to each year group (junior school).

My wife works at the same school, and always saying various bugs going round, so they install a high regime of ensure all children wash hands after a trip to the loo and before lunch etc.

So in a room full of adults, to hear " service announcement, please remember to wash your hands, we all use the same chips and cards...."

Do people, adults at that really not wash hands after going to the loo!!??

I'm staggered!

A quick google

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-19834975

'In a recent UK-wide study, 99% of people interviewed at motorway service stations toilets claimed they had washed their hands after going to the toilet. Electronic recording devices revealed only 32% of men and 64% of women actually did'

Why are you staggered? Have you never used the toilets in a pub or casino before?

I'm surprised so many women actually did tbh.  Can't tell you how many times I've headed to the sink as a random woman was about to walk out the door...only for her to turn around and do the hand wash thing as an after thought, for fear she was caught.

Assume you were in the north half of the country. This will definitely be a much greater problem in northern / working class areas.

It's unbelievable how many people don't wash their hands. That's why you will never see me touch my food with my hands in a card room.

I even eat sandwiches with a knife and fork.

Probably more important to clean your hands once you're in the toilet, than the way out.

That stuff is useless for stomach bugs - but useful against the flu etc. There's a reason norovirus gets around hospitals...

Yep, soap and water is the way forward for avoiding the notorious. Or you could wear latex gloves at the table and not touch your face or food with them.

Some people are dirty bastards though. You go into the toilets and people have pissed all over the seats. How old are these people? Do they do this at home?

David Cameron and Dennis Skinner are in the House of Commons loo and stand adjacent to each other at the urinals.
Having finished they zip up and turn away, Cameron heads for the sinks, Skinber for the door.
Cameron says " When I was at Eton they taught me to always wash my hands after I had been to the toilet"
Skinner responds "that's as maybe, but I was taught not to pee on my hands"
