'Tickets will range in price from £58 (US $90) for first-round matches to £632 ($990) for the final at Maracana Stadium in Rio de Janeiro.' Obviously they need to charge those prices to make up for all that shortfall from TV revenues ...... I truly hope the fans give this comp a massive swerve - I can see those greedy m*****f****rs from Thiefa being left with rows and rows of empty seats hardly impressing the worldwide audience, for what ought to be football's showcase! Remember how tits up the attendances went when the tournament was held in 'idyllic' Sar Frafficka - the 'away fans' largely stayed at home, and the locals couldn't afford the tickets. Why, oh why, don't the people with the real financial clout - the Tele(Tubby)visers - ask the filth that run football; a) Where will the packed stands 'screensaver' for our broadcasts be - who the hell is going to shell out $90 to watch a 1st round game between Uganda and Kazakhstan (when its live on telly)? b) How many Europeans in these dire economic times will even contemplate the journey with ticket/hotel/food/drink/internal flight prices going through the roof? c) Will the locals choose to spend the entrance fee (even if they could scrape it together) more wisely by partying at their favourite bar? Half empty stadiums look awful on telly ..... just ask SKY. Imagine the footie world cup games will sell out whatever you charge. Either Blatter gets it, or the touts do. Not sure what is preferable to be fair.
