Thus far, nothing to ask about, but... Dealer instantly takes the raise amount from the all-in player's stack and gathers in the chips from the calls. Standard? Unusual but acceptable? Shouldn't happen? Also, should dealer announce the all-in amount without being asked? I thought I knew the answers to these but recent experiences have made me wonder. It's way worse in spots where for instance a player raises, gets 3bet and the dealer scoops in how much to call, there's a 4bet, dealer scoops it in. Then both players start to get really lost over how much money is actually in the pot/who raised by how much total etc.
I think the ruling should be that the dealer should leave the bets as they are. But if a player asks to either bring the bets in or how much it is for them to call then the dealer can pull the bets in then, especially in all-in situations for some players it's much easier that way. and it really boils my piss. Player A raises, player then 3 bets, the action comes round to player A again and he asks how much the 3 bets was. By this time the dealer has already scooped in the call amount from player B and has merged that and the original raise from player A into the main pot with the blinds and the antes leaving the discrepancy "raise" amount in front of player B, so the dealer now replies " it X more to call" FFS!!!!!!!! just leave the 3 bet there till player A has had chance to act. In my opinion, chips should only be gathered at the end of each betting round momentarily before dealing the next card. I recently ended up in a shouting match with one of the dealers at the Gala casino in Birmingham because he did what david had described, I asked him why he had done this, and he replied "we've been trained to do this". So it seems that its the new way that dealers are being taught now. I always remember when I first started playing at DTD, they always trained the dealers to state how much the 3 bet was and they would never state "its xx more". I always thought this was a good way of doing it. Sometimes more novice players can sometimes feel more inclined/pressured to call when the bet is stated as "its x more to call". RP-2. Bringing in Bets is Discouraged Routinely bringing in chips as betting and raising proceeds around the table is poor dealing practice. The reduction in bet stacks may influence the action, create confusion & increase the risk of error. The TDA recommends that dealers do not touch a player's bet unless a count is needed. Only the player currently facing action may ask the dealer to bring-in chips. |
