I made a comment on facebook yesterday, and after some thought, realised it may be a good idea. It can be sometimes difficult to find a seat at DTD when not playing poker, table games or the slots. You often get a crowd of people also at the top deck during cash games on breaks where people socialize and often get it in the ear to MOVE ON! Seating can sometimes be an issue due to high number of people and with a lot of space taken up by the table games and machine roulette, the actual designated seating available can be small at times. Only due to the fact it is used for people to eat.. fair enough too right. But with tables with four seats, it is often filled by just two people sitting opposite each other. Or by a gentleman that is on his own, just taken a badbeat and obviously does not want to be disturbed and interacted with!! And ask Jason, I often get told off for eating my food on the unoccupied blackjack tables!

Although I think the VIP area is a good idea, it may not used enough for it to be there. To be honest, is a space that can be used for the rest of the club players? I know it is at a cost, but didn't know if it could be converted into a lounge/sports area? Get some sofas sorted, teles with the footie on, small tables with two chairs for table games like chess or connect 4? Even like a OFC lounge! Silly as it sounds, I think sofas make such a difference, lol. I know blonde can sometimes shot people down for making comments, (if it is such a good idea why aren't they doing it) etc etc. But feedback is what the club lives on and asks for. And it isnt feedback that makes this better for me and total unreasonable, but I feel better for DTD. Create a better social atmosphere, maybe reduce bundles of people at top desk and allow people to interact on a different scale. I understand the money spent in the club may be reduced as people may not be drawn into playing the games when they can just sit. But gives people a chance to reflect and then think, "bugger it, another £50 will do". I often here of people going to Frankies and Bennies to have a drink. So why not keep them in the club!

whenever i make the trip i am either sat at a tourney table or a cash table. seems a shame to get to the best poker club in the uk and not have cards in front of you.

however i can see your point if its your local tommy.

Some people I know will only have enough money for the torney and a few drinks itself. Sometimes they don't even come as they don't want to wait around if they bust before everyone. Just think it would be nice to have a spot to chill.

I was in the club Saturday and Sunday . Think they doing something to the VIP LOUNGE . It's got curtain drawn on it and I think it's going to be renovated into something ? Seating area not many but u can go outside the club for fresh air if I on the break ! Lol

also, as silly as it sounds - is it possible for the club to build some ties with the food and entertainment establishments in the retail park??
(I know they serve food at the club)

Ive suggested it before to Simon (actually as a bar for girls/WAGs), but maybe a lounge/sportsbook/bar on a mezzanine area upstairs

Probably best for them if they dont have an area like that.  If you have to sit at the roulette machines people get tempted to play, if you have to sit at the bar people will buy drinks.  If theyre sitting in a room watching football and playing OFC theyre not spending money

Yeah do agree totally on that point. I only think this is a short term loss. I think people would stay longer given that availability.
It is obviously better for people to spend their monies, but as soon as they are out the door in their car and driving home. Their money is out the club.
The longer they're in DTD, the more the 'fuck it another 20quid.. another 50' mentality takes place. So would be better for them to be in the club for longer.
Not saying everyone is gona stay cus they have a bloody sofa and a chess table, but the option is available insted of just driving home.

Can't please everyone, the games thing is a nice idea, but I guess space is at a premium already.

A sportsbook area would be Good, thats if DTD wanted to get into all that!

But its a poker club, the idea of people shooting pool, laughing and joking around when your on the poker baize and in the zone does not seem practical to me, how annoying would it be if your sat at the poker tables near the VIP area and can hear the clinc of balls!!! 

I love to play pool to, but in reality unless the area was removed from the poker environment or sound proofed - then it would be a hindrance to poker players! just my thought!

Would love the space to chill out after the crushing blow of getting nocked out of a game. Sit, chill and think about things b4 going to play cash.

Some sofas, tables for chess backgammon or ofc. What ever you want to do on them. If dtd think of it as a loss leader (money's better in the club then in the car on the way home)

I agree although Pool, Time Crisis and a Dance Craze Machine would be epic, wouldnt be suitable. Thats why I think it literally only needs sofas, and a few tables on the side. Its quite, if there is LOUD talk all the discussions, tables in play are far enough away. Had a final table on there a few weeks back in the VIP area and couldnt here much from inside of it, so sure would be the same for players outside the section.

Think it benefits locals and travelling players. Some travelling players just snap leave after busting as they don't wona spend more money. Having an smart, comfortable area when someone can have a drink before they leave would be handy. Plus, once they've chilled they may stay for longer.

obv answer is to take over the nightclub next door, build a tunnelled walk way into DTD by the smoking area. have multiple layers of strippers/pool tables/BIG sofas and w/e else people want.


You could sell it by saying if you have mates who aren't sure they want to play still come down there's lots to do for errryone!

Or turn the nightclub into a hotel. I would visit more often if that was a hotel. Cash games til 6 am then a quick kip. Nice.

If your gona build a walkway it would be cost effective to build a slide from one club to another and would speed up the transaction from A to B. Problem is with strippers, I don't know what would be fair in relation to Rake. Im sure there are other venues offering private strippers for alot less due to them having less overheads. Plus if they reentre.. do they have to pay a reg fee. If they buy the nightclub, Will just be like Mr Wenger..hasnt bought any decent players and spent money since he built the new stadium. The same could happen here. We just end up with dealers on a free transfer and the games will be effected.

Saying that, as we want everything in the club.. They should do a rake back deal per purchase of private dances. Rake up points and you can spend on drinks. That would work.

Ud have to employee a steward. Sure Ryan would dona good job. By the end of the week parking may be an issue and I will be talking about that. Turning up and we have the travelling community set up with spinning tea cups and unsafety checked fairground rides.

the noise problem could be easily solved by having glass wall like the original VIP lounge.
we spoke about this in coventry didnt we tommy, i gotta agree 100% woud be cool to have a games area with a few vintage arcades couple of pool tables, pinball and of course and OFC area that we spoke about, its getting more popular and would be cool to head this up in the uk and have games running, why not hey!
i know some peoples points when you travel to play poker and thats what you will do, be it tourney or cash games, but sometimes u want a break from it all mid way through a day or youve crashed out of a comp and need a chill time before you wait and rail friends, i think it would work well given the support from the customers. like tommy said its about keeping people in the club and i dont think computer roulette does it.
its like all the old school pubs that would have darts,pool,quizes anything to keep people inside there pub drinking there drink.

im excited to see what happens with the current work and know dtd work hard to please.

We can always include built in calculators into the tables? You would be happy. You can bust then work out if the maths was correct on it.

Judging by most the suggestions, I think the general consensus is that we need some kind of card room / youth club / fun fair hybrid.

Oh, and a tea trolley for a bean and some kind of castle/mountain/graveyard/macabre decor that makes Bingham feel at home.

It has gone astray. I original point was simple a place to sit comfortable. I sofa/lounge area, to sit drink, eat and talk. Maybe throw in a chess table or something.
We are now discussing dodgems, slides, time crises, table tennis, rake back strippers and dance nation dance machines. Although all great ideas..maybe not suitable.

Cant wait for the curtain to peel back and be shown a petting zoo.

Usually no spare seats/tables to sit at when the club's busy.  As mentioned, it's not conducive to just sitting and chilling (if people are having a break or waiting for a mate to bust from a comp).  Also, not really got a good view of the TV from that section either.

That sounds lovely. Only problem is it won't generate enough revenue to pay for itself so is a complete non starter.

Best bet would be for a slightly more exclusive area with some decent drinks and nice seating. Make it expensive to keep the riff raff out and you're all good.

But due to the land type and foundations this was not possible.
