And just jam pre Title: Re: Where do we go from here? Post by: Doobs on September 03, 2013, 10:14:54 AM too far from the money to pass this imo And just jam pre Yuck.. I think fold now, but definitely jam first. Min raising these cards at this stage with that stack is terrible. Title: Re: Where do we go from here? Post by: George2Loose on September 03, 2013, 10:17:15 AM Agree jam pre fold now
Title: Re: Where do we go from here? Post by: Rexas on September 03, 2013, 12:04:56 PM I think I'd find it hard to fold this four handed this far from the money, we gotta take the structure into account a little and say we're gonna have even less big blinds very soon, and we may be unlikely to find a hand as good as this in that time. We'll certainly be forced to shove pretty light pretty often just to try and stay a float.
Agree with others that this is a jam pre though, we have a good hand but hate spots like this, and at this stage in the satellite, we're not gonna be expecting to see flops so any raise with a hand we aren't going to call with pretty quickly is basically a preflop bluff, and I'd hate to be doing that with a hand as strong as AJ this short handed and short stacked (in terms of bbs). Blinds and ante's are worth a ton to us too. Title: Re: Where do we go from here? Post by: George2Loose on September 03, 2013, 12:41:01 PM This far away? Only have to lose half the field. If the guy is decent his re shove range will be pretty tight. We can jam unopened and pick up chips.

Title: Re: Where do we go from here? Post by: PathFinder on September 03, 2013, 07:36:06 PM Does anyone feel we widen Villian's "get it in" range by raise calling rather than just shoving? Obviously we open ourselves up to more variance by raise calling but just thought i would put it out there
Title: Re: Where do we go from here? Post by: NoCardDSC on September 04, 2013, 05:16:39 PM Yep, pretty easy jam pre imo.
Title: Re: Where do we go from here? Post by: the rage on September 04, 2013, 08:39:20 PM I appreciate that it's a turbo and that you only have 15bb, but, as it's a satellite, is raise/folding really that bad? I actually think that villian has a pretty tight jamming range here. AJ is probably in poor shape against the villian on your immediate left, but even if he, or the blinds, choose to jam light, your tournament is still at serious risk.
It's a RAISE/FOLD for me :) Title: Re: Where do we go from here? Post by: SuuPRlim on September 05, 2013, 01:10:02 AM dont forget there is some value in making him that sub section of his range where he'd jam over an open but would fold to a jam. yes we have a better hand than him in that instance but he'll have 35% vs us and winning the pot uncontested is very valuable.

Obviously we open ourselves up to more variance by raise calling but just thought i would put it out there ^my thoughts in game, my worst habit is over levelling myself though. i had been a super nit-rock all comp and most probably percieved as weak tight by any thinking player, i 100% agree jam pre is the best line, but i'm confident the two players not involved would fold out every hand they bluff 3b shove with that we crush. Also we have magically played this somehow as a complete freezeout so i decided to call considering i need to play for stacks and this win would basically lock a seat for tree dollas, villain was playing the most % and i'd probs shoot myself in the face for not jamming pre if i raise fold in a game this shallow.
