All,
        Got £400 for a Laptop. Need some guidance from the Techy guy's on here.

Have Seen this.

Yes I'm gonna buy a lappy soon

Same budget also gonna go refurb route I think

(no CD/DVD as its so slim)


Does this mean no cd drive?

How would you install things? Just dl?
Gonna start looking when bk from holiday

Good spec

spend the extra tenner for the extra 6 months warranty..might have to pick up an external cd drive though

Would prefer desk top but my desk takes up too much room so gonnna get lappy

Wouldn't get a laptop that doesn't have an SSD.  That one does, but it's only 32GB - so enough for the OS, etc., and other program files I think.

Need someone more technical than me to say if it's big enough to get the benefit of having an SSD over  a HDD.

Otherwise, spec looks decent.

Too small.. So additionally will fill that up I have a 120 gb one running my so partition with a mirror 2tb data

I'd guess at 128GB, but it is a guess.

The one on mine is 255GB, and has convinced me never to buy another laptop that doesn't have a SSD.

internet, looking on the internet, emails and poker?

its an i5  Ultrabook so it will easy do all of that! its just not got a Cd drive, i guess they missed that out so they could call it a  Ultrabook and not a notebook
