Title: Live 1/2 hand Post by: peejaytwo on October 14, 2013, 11:30:17 AM Live rec signing in wanting clarification please.
Hero £525 Villain 1 £1200 sat down with 1k bringing chips from roulette Villain 2 £144 just lost a pot to villain 1 resulting in the usual verbal sparring, now been called Robin the celebrity hairdresser by V2 Both obv been drinking and villain 1 def a mark at the table Robin and another guy limp (as usual) I make it £13 OTB with Ad Td V2 calls Robin says" that's what I wanted" and makes it £50 Other limper folds and I call. I am concerned and a bit confused buy sooted cards eh? V2 then goes all in, Robin calls and there's ~£350 in the pot. Hating life I put the £94 in. FML £435 in the pot and I have AT. Flop Jh Js 8c Robin checks, I'm delighted to check behind. Turn 8s Robin checks again. I check thinking split pot. River Th Looks like a great card for me,now beating a bunch of hands. Robin bets £100 and I call. I declare a ten, robin says nice hand throwing his cards face up and V2 insta mucks. Dealer then tells Robin his Q9 makes a str8 and he's won. Ive related this story twice to guys who I know more for the comedy ending than for any advice/bad beat value. Both said to jam the flop which I don't like at all. Just gonna lose the rest of my stack to any 8/99/TT and overpairs. I am thinking that Robin isn't good enough to trap check twice so should I bet the turn or just get to showdown as cheaply as possible. River call standard? Sorry it's long winded Title: Re: Live 1/2 hand Post by: SuuPRlim on October 14, 2013, 12:14:58 PM Pre-flop is a bit confusing as reported but I think Villian one, the one who has come from roulette and has £1200 is Robin the Hairdresser? and Villian 2 is the guy with £150?
If that is true then I think you played the hand abso fine, if in fact the person who made it £50 had the £144 stack (which is how it reads) then you should set him in pre-flop. But I'm fairly sure this is a perfectly fine hand, wp. Villain basically never has 99 or better on the turn so we give ourself a freeroll to bet the turn to get chops to potentially fold, or if he ever has any form of draw, call. It's only later that I thought that betting the turn may get AK/AQ to fold, which is why I'm a live rec fish. Having said that Robin was not likely to fold so perhaps I lost the minimum. |
