Title: Recent DTD Payouts
Post by: YEAHMAN123 on October 21, 2013, 01:16:46 PM
I thought I'd put up what I've been feeling over the last few months I don't wana come across in a bad way, I want it to be constructive and if I'm the only guy who feel like this then totally fine with that :)

Yesterday 18 people got £300 min cash then 9 more got £400 how many players made profit from that I wonder?
1st to 2nd was £5k difference.... £12k- £7k....

1. Min cash could be improved slightly  because taking a 2nd re entry means you are still out of pocket. This would be funded by paying less, or take some off the top... £10k for the win is pretty much the same to any one winning.... £70k or £50k for bigger comps is pretty much the same to the winner.

2. Flatten the top a bit because those jumps are just too massive.

3. Often the winner of a 300 runner comp gets a nice day for beating 299 guys yet the man who beats 290 guy makes a final busto 9/8 don't win much at all. I understand its quite often standard payouts up top but I think personally a re think Of this would be good

I can understand reasoning behind the way it's done and anyone with a brain can figure it out. I don't even live far away and it's made me think this could be done better

I know I didn't play this but have played a few deepstacks and wanted to get people's views who live close and far away from the club

Maybe this 30players paid

Min cash
£450 or £550? Make traveling and grind worth while :)

Also I spoke to some friends who would like a midweek headhunter but £85 re entry or whatever it is, is surely too much? I guess if your purely targeting super50 players then that's ok. Even then with re entry travel drinks it's £200 for a Thursday night :(
A £20+5 bounty for example would be good. This isn't just me asking and I couldn't make every one but I know some players won't play it purely fr buyin amount.

People's thoughts please and on anything else people would like to air?
I've had to post using my phone because my laptops busto ( not from online cash ;) ) so apologise for any wording errors

Merging this thread with the earlier post on the same subject Liam

I think the earlier post had the opposite view

DTD has been doing manual payouts for the weekend 2 day events recently

I had assumed Liam's post was a level?

Hi All

Generally we pay 12 - 15% of the field with approx 25% for the winner depending on size of field, min cash starts at 2x buy in but can vary with re-entry.

However you have to realise only 25% of the field usually re enter so increasing min cash means reducing number of payouts.

I prefer higher roi up top to reward the winner, this will also take into account his re-entry costs but ultimately whatever we do it is impossible to please everyone.

I never mind anyone airing their opinions either directly with me at the club or on Blonde as the only way we can improve is to listen to our customers.

Cheers ACES

I was always under the impression that 10% of players paid was standard.

Why has 12-15% become the norm? Stars started it but they want the money to stay on their site. Live is different IMO.

Would only paying 10% help these issues? Spare money for 2x entry as min cash and also enough for the top?

10% paid, 30% up top imo

10% paid, 30% up top imo

I wholeheartedly agree with this. Even though it means I wouldn't have min cashed this weekend.

Have a look at the times, his was here first. But as Tighty makes clear, they were two threads on very similar topics.

Your post was 2 hours after his, on the same subject

It made no sense to have two debates concurrently.

I noted the thread had been merged and you had (without realising) posted an opposite view. No problem in that

Personally would like to see less paid. defo no more than 10% prob more like 8% keep min cash as dble ur entry. skim bit of top and make everything in between bigger to flatten the payouts especially with the fact u cant do deals at dtd. The thought of min cashing then having that same or similar payout for the next 20 or 30 places does not appeal to me personally.

problem with the payouts stem from re-entry instead of rebuy

in a rebuy 200 enter 20 people get paid the more rebuys then the min cash goes up

in a re entry no matter how many people re enter min cash never goes up
so if you re entering you need too get much deeper too get your money back

10% of total entries or 10% of unique entries?

more pertinent in comps with stack merging i guess but adjusting the min-cash to suit someone who wants to fire three or four or five or even six bullets and then adding more min-cashes into the equation because there were people doing just this penalises thone of us who generally have only the one shot

I don't mind min cash being double the buyin. I also think re-entry should not be a contributing factor.

I think that payouts have become to flat and prefer the 10% of field paid and big cash prize for the winner

If you're trying to keep a steady influx of recreational players joining the game then the double the buyin for cashing is a must and the more paid the better. I can understand the more experienced players or those that live in the casino wanting more up top as they are statistically more likely to be getting more cashes. I do agree the final table payouts could be flattened... even if it means a leap from 10th to 9th and then flatter steps up.

I would like to point out that the headhunter is a little too much for me. I would have been happier with a 25+10 sorta thing, and would have been up for playing this every week. I think this has impacted negatively on the numbers that this tournament gets, and a reduced price would make this tournament much more popular.

Agree with this. I went to the first one of the £50 + £25 +£8 ones, advertised as a freezeout and it became a reentry and only just made the guarantee of £2500 (50 entries needed). I can see why theres a guarantee as other venues locally have a tourney on a Thursday. Not sure how many it got last week and I think maybe a Super 50, a beginners and instead of a £15 as third tournt on a Thursday maybe a £15 plus £5 plus £x reg HH?

can relate to this...got half term off work next week and looked to come and play the headhunter...would deffo come over at 25+10 0r even £20+£20. I guess there must be plenty of players with deep pockets though if they still get the numbers (don't know how many play it) at the current price.

Like many recs I love online headhunters as you know even if you don't make the money the head prizes can cover your buy in and it lets you play a looser game...perhaps that's why the pros don't seem to like them.

Why not simply copy this example from a tried and trusted operator?

This is their payout structure for a field of just under 400 runners.

Rounded out to almost 10% of the field paying 40 with a slightly above 2x min-cash and fairly graduated pay-jumps.

Personally like the payout structure here.
