Title: weird gambling advertising stuff on blonde? Post by: Claw75 on November 12, 2013, 07:22:12 PM Last couple of days I've been getting some weird stuff happening when I browse blonde on my laptop (fine on phone). Yesterday when I clicked on links to threads a new tab/window would open up taking me to betting/gambling websites (Paddy Power was one - can't remember the others. Today I'm getting a random side bar appearing with poker related stuff (screenshot below).
(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v248/clairep75/forum.png) and as I clicked on the 'post' button, instead of posting, this happened: (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v248/clairep75/forum2.png) anyone else getting this and/or know what might be causing it? I've run a scan for malicious software, but it didn't find anything :dontask: help!! Title: Re: weird gambling advertising stuff on blonde? Post by: Geo the Sarge on November 12, 2013, 07:37:49 PM I started getting these whilst using firefox as a browser so binned it and went with Chrome, no probs now. Just fired up in firefox and getting the same.

Could be that you've also got the hijack somehow. Title: Re: weird gambling advertising stuff on blonde? Post by: Ironside on November 12, 2013, 08:13:41 PM guys add me on skype blondepoker_iron and i will see if i can find the problem

Post by: Claw75 on November 12, 2013, 08:29:53 PM just in case anyone else has similar problem with chrome:
click on menu, then settings, then extensions. any ticked and labelled 'installed by a third party' are likely to be the culprit - just delete them :) Title: Re: weird gambling advertising stuff on blonde? Post by: kinboshi on November 12, 2013, 09:14:31 PM You get these parasitic programs piggy-backing on installs of other software. So they don't always appear in your installed programs list and neither do they appear in most malware scans.
Think last time I saw one like this was on a computer where a program that had been installed to view football streams had also installed the cheeky browser hijacking software as well. Got to be careful, as although this one is naughty it's not malicious. Sometimes they can be. Title: Re: weird gambling advertising stuff on blonde? Post by: the sicilian on November 12, 2013, 09:15:41 PM Standard spyware crap... Just go to download.com and use something like malware bytes to clean it up
Title: Re: weird gambling advertising stuff on blonde? Post by: Rexas on November 12, 2013, 11:24:20 PM I have exactly the same problem, but unfortunately im useless with computers and basically understand none of this :(
