Title: I haz a trophy. Post by: Mohican on November 18, 2013, 07:43:59 PM Saturday was Team HitSquad's (from next door) inaugural leg of the HitSquad Poker Tour(HPT). It took place at the Alea Casino in Glasgow and a massive 29 runners ponied up the eyewatering
buy-in of £50+5. A decent structure meant exits were slow to come but eventually the HPT November 9 were ready for the FT. (http://i225.photobucket.com/albums/dd131/druid636/nov9.jpg) (http://s225.photobucket.com/user/druid636/media/nov9.jpg.html) The slow pace of exits continued but eventually the game got to HU with the chipleader having over a 10/1 chip lead on his opponent. An epic HU battle of probably 5 hands eventually saw me crowned HPT Glasgow 2013 Champion. (http://i225.photobucket.com/albums/dd131/druid636/Champ.jpg) (http://s225.photobucket.com/user/druid636/media/Champ.jpg.html) My reward for my days toil was £450, a place on the APAT team for Team HitSquad, £110 seat donated by Paul Jackson for his charity tournament for the Ark Animal welfare trust(I'll be donating 10% of any winnings) and of course my trophy. (http://i225.photobucket.com/albums/dd131/druid636/trophy.jpg) (http://s225.photobucket.com/user/druid636/media/trophy.jpg.html) Obvs it's not as prestigious as some blondes poker trophies but it's mine, I won it and it represents my first decent live tourney win, so I'm really chuffed to have won it. Hopefully I can repeat my efforts at the charity tournament in January. EDIT- Details of charity tournament- Star City Casino Birmingham January 25 1pm start Title: Re: I haz a trophy. Well done also to Dave Harvey, aka Hitman-RV, who is responsible for the Hit Squad collective. Dave spends so much time organising stuff for others, helping newbie players understand that poker is supposed to be a fun game, & generally trying to spread happpiness in the poker world. If they gave out poker gongs in the New Year Honours List, he'd be a shoo-in. Top, top bloke, & I have nothing but admiration for how he conducts himself. He is a bit nuts at times, & prone to multi-exclamation marks in his exuberance, but I think I'd forgive him anything. Shocking dress-sense, mind. Title: Re: I haz a trophy. Post by: Knottikay on November 20, 2013, 12:46:38 PM Nice one. Glad it went ok and you all seemed to have a good time! Hopefully, some 'TKP professionals' can join you in upcoming tours and give you lot some poker and drinking lessons in the future. |
