Title: Take off or not to take off Post by: paulhouk03 on November 30, 2013, 11:36:33 PM Villain is a unknown but keeps bragging about his 5 5 Omaha game at the Vic and 10 25 mixed game in London so assume competent
Hero (me) playing 19k Villain 16k Blinds 50 100 His raises utg to 250 Hero in mid position with Aspades Kd flat Two other limpers Flop Ac Kh 3s rainbow Villain checks I bet 500 Limper calls Villain min raises to 1000 I call Limp folds Turn Qh Bets 2.4 I flat River 6s Bets 5 k We? The reason why I just flat pre as the game is very station and I didn't wanna play a huge pot early on. Lots of other easy spots about Should I jam river 3b flop? Or did I play this ok I got a lot of shit about how I played this hand Title: Re: Take off or not to take off Post by: DMorgan on December 01, 2013, 05:22:11 AM Flat pre is fine, definitely don't 3bet the flop.
Pros of jamming, we block AA/KK and we flatted pre so we look pretty FOS but then again what bluffs can you have? Doubt he's gunna give an unknown credit for turning made hands into 200bb bluffs level 1 of a live comp. I think he's more likely to just give you credit for 33 (which I don't necessarily think would be a jam) and fold AQ than he is to put you on a ridic bluff and hero it off. Pros of calling we get a reasonably nitty image to exploit later, people get pretty tilted too when they value cut themselves in big pots which is nice. I'd come down on the side of calling, but reasonable arguments for both. If we had some hero call history with the guy then I can very easily see jamming here but as described would flat Title: Re: Take off or not to take off Post by: millidonk on December 01, 2013, 07:30:49 AM I am just calling vs most compotent players. Can't see much calling a jam that we beat. AQ that's about it.
Don't like 3b flop but why not 3b turn? he could have picked up equity and want to get in Title: Re: Take off or not to take off Post by: paulhouk03 on December 01, 2013, 07:50:26 AM We fist pumping river?
His line is pretty strange Dunno why someone would min raise flop then bomb the turn and river Title: Re: Take off or not to take off Post by: millidonk on December 01, 2013, 08:02:16 AM lolz actually misread hand. didn't see he clicked the flop back after a bet and call. His turn and river bet are also pretty big. Think if he plays a set like this he just kills the action so often. Original answer applies, callings.
