NOT "Advent Calendar" style, Fred is a no-chunter zone, but just informal.

He's had a good December. He deserves an award.

As a non participating browser of Fred;

MVG bet from last year has to Swet of the year.

Jaffa cake must get some award for his US based knowledge.

The MVG bet, I've just looked it up, it came from Bazzaboy, & we were on MVG at........50/1!

Incred scenes, then along came Taylor. We saved on Taylor, £150 @ Evens, so it all worked out rather well in the end.

There was the small matter of the 49ers. That superbowl has to be one of the best sporting events to have had money on, with the culmination of weeks of sweats and some of us letting our money ride...

The highlight of that night has to be the look on Ant's face when he realised Dubai had switched tables and backed a 2/1 winner that he hadn't been told about!

For the amount of bets I have put up, discounting the newbie autobet I got in at the start, how many do you remember backing?

Feel like I have made it having been in the 2011 Advent calendar and now this.

If there was a best bet my vote would go to cheapwetsuit with the 150-1 cyclist, not just for the fact that it won, but he also gave a proper write up at the time (Tighty style) as to why he thought it was value and was in with a chance. A lot of guys on TFT are specialist in all kinds of areas and this was a great example of someone knowing what they are on about and sharing it itch the rest of us.

The Best Sweat has to be the 49ers bet from Keith, everything about it from the initial post - probably one of the best "heart and head posts" ever, to the end result - was a great sweat all the way through with the Ebs and Flows of not getting top spot etc etc

The Doobs Award - whoever started fred on the route to being a "nitty arber", 2nd to Fav money back free bet specifically but other types.   God it stops me dipping in as much - don't mind when its a stand out, one off offer - but got to the point this was boring the pants off me....we've got it, we know when to place bets, we know its mathematically sound....is that really what fred is about.  Fred is about the great thought through bets, narratives, judgement and fun banzais with a case...not how to be a nitty arber - post education of many ;)

The maths award should be that horse race where we bet two thirds of the field getting the ew down to 6th I think, first race of something, Cheltenham maybe. Helped that we oioi-ed in one of the long-priced ones we'd backed.

Defo needs to be a tiddlearse award for the best bet that has been insulted with a 5-year-old child's pocket money put on it. Tonight's 14/1 winner with £1.79 on it is one of the nominees

The Kinboshi rubdown award

When Kin suggested backing against Wigan in the rugby league think it was a handicap bet against hull. The bet lost (Wigan covered but lost the game I think), kin was in the thread banging about what a brilliant display it was by the Wigan youngsters and then revealed he hadn't backed his own tip!

Camel was not happy, had me in stitches!

I can't remember who put it up but iirc we were on Al Ferof in The Arkle @ 5/1 EW 1/2/3 in a 6-runner race, proper value pie that was.

We had £0.63 EW with Paddy Power, & £0.12 WIN (TWELVE PENCE) with Bet365 on that Cycliist @ 150/1. We got over £130 back!

I really wasn't happy, I virtually never bet on Rugby League because I know how team news dependent it is and as I don't follow the sport at all.

This looked like a great spot, when a fan was suggesting betting on his team to lose.
