I did a firmware update on my phone and then re-installed my stuff. Now I can't log into blonde from my phone, it's saying my username and password don't match, but I can still log in from my laptop using them.

Amazingly, turning it off and on didn't work.

Impossible, try it again.

Does your phone put the first letter of the password in capital letters?  Mine did that for something, just a thought.

good thinking batman passwords for blonde are case sensitive so when typing in your password make sure its in the right case

No. It's not that. I made sure it was all lower case.

Yes. still couldn't sign in (I sent you a text)

Change your password and try the new one. If that doesn't work its probably firmware related which seems strange.

Iron created a test account and I couldn't log into that from my phone either.

Try putting your phone in a bag of uncooked rice.

Try a different browser on your phone. It's an android phone you've got still? If so download the Dolphin browser and try on there.

Something to do with adult filter & gambling sites.?  Maybe it's reset an age restriction.

It's Tom's own fault, I told him to upgrade his 'phone, but he was having none of it.

It's definitely not a content filter. I'm getting this error message.

I have tried tried a different browser.

I had this problem before - it went away - can't remember what I did though or if I just kept on re-trying until it worked again.

Deco looks like the error you get if your password was in the wrong case

I didn't think it could possibly work, so I went googling for a solution and that's what they advised.

It is somewhat satisfying that we can abuse Tom, & he can't respond. Eventually he'll learn that 'phones are for phoning people, not forum waffling.

Not from my phone.

This morning I switched it off and removed the battery, then when I switched it back on I was able to log in. Later in the day I found I had been logged out and couldn't log in again.

I repeated the switching on and off routine but this time it didn't work.

Tried Dolphin, no luck.

Have you tried turning it off and on again again?

Changed my search engine from google to bing this morning and was able to log in, but when I logged out I couldn't log on again.

Just log in forever and come and go as you please

Search engine should be irrelevant to logging in to blonde, so think that's a coincidence rather than causal.

 Definitely something weird happening though.

My 12 year old nephew tried this one after getting his phone wet recently, only he misunderstood and put his in a bag of microwave rice in the freezer.

Incredibly his phone started working again so we weren't allowed to laugh at him too much.

I had a shortcut to blonde on the home page of my phone. I deleted it this morning and now I can log in.

It's logged me out again and won't let me back in.

It's like when I change something I can log in for a short while and then I'm back to square one.

When I do change something, it's like I'm vaccinating blonde against the phone and it develops a resistance to my password.

There is a simple fix.


Get a new phone.

Try clearing temporary files/clearing the cache?

No idea what that option would be called, maybe something along the lines of 'clear browsing data'?

in settings you can clear cookies or cache or history

cookies most likely i would've thought so try that first

this happens fairly frequently on my phone for no apparent reason.  i usually just reset password (to the same one i had before!) and carry on as normal until it happens again.

Clearing browsing data would remove his current flavour of the month exotic sites, there's got to be another way

I've cleared cache, cookies, browsing history, changed my password, tried to log in to a test account created by admin, and tuned my phone on and off.

Change browser?  Can get mobile versions of Firefox, opera, safari and chrome I believe.

Tried chrome and dolphin. Nada.

Make a backup then restore to factory settings and see if that makes a difference?

You can log in to other forums and sites OK?

Could be some weird language/ input issue that's inserting strange stuff that isn't being recognised correctly. You haven't mentioned problems with other sites though... ;carlocitrone;

Well I use SwiftKey, so after reading this post I changed back to the default Samsung keyboard. I still couldn't log in, so I changed back to SwiftKey and it let me log in.

I have no idea what conclusions to draw from that. It seems like I find a way to log in every other day but then it logs me out and I can't get back in by the same method.

The logging me out after I'm in part is a puzzle. How and why would it do that?

Immediately after posting that I closed the tab that blonde was open in and looked at something else. When I came back to blonde I was logged out again. I was convinced it wouldn't let me back in but it did. Well this time anyway.

I'm still logged in.

I have high hopes that the problem was caused by a language / input anomaly.

Yes, it's going well.

I think it's because the content is more interesting than the crap I used to put on the old one.

I wouldn't quite agree with that, but this daily log of logging in and out is riveting. "Will he log in, will he stayed logged in, will he be kicked out. Find out in the next post of I'm Semi banned with RED-DOG" this is the kind of excitement I've been missing in my life since Breaking Bad finished.

On a serious note, Breaking bad has spoiled me for all other TV serieziz. Nothing else comes close.

It looks like I can log once if I go on to the laptop first and change my password and then open blonde on my phone by googling it rather than using a tab that it's already open in.

I just thought of something which may be relevant, Tom.

Were you aware that Tighty and I got Ironside to change a few settings under the bonnet? That might be the cause of all this. It only affects Mods and Admin.

I knew it would be Ironside's fault.

So to recap. I can log in from my phone for a short while provided that I don't use any information that might be stored anywhere. Everything must be entered from scratch. No using predictive search information or words offered by predictive text, no short cuts, brand new google search page, etc...

I even have to wipe RED-DOG from the Username box and re-enter it.

Once I'm logged in I can only stay logged in for half an hour max, then I have to start over.

Aye. I got a new phone. :)

I can only assume that this problem is blonde anomaly. I can log into, and stay logged into every other site I've tried.

I can't log into the Hendon Mob forum either.

Also, when I open the Hendon Mob page I get the standard Cookie warning, when I dismiss it it reappears as soon as I refresh the page.

Sounds like the session cookie is being cleared, so it doesn't know you're logged in - and so you're logged out.

Have you got an app or some setting on your phone that's removing cookies for privacy reasons (or something) and it's gone a bit haywire?

I suppose I could have, it sounds like a decent theory, but how would I know?

when you click "settings" on the internet bit it gives you loads of things to scroll through and the second last one on my phone is "website settings"

I Have a new problem. let's see if we can resolve this one without having to ask tikay.

When I quote a post on the forum, (This applies to all fora BTW) and scroll down to the bottom on the reply box, it instantly flips back to the top of the page, si I scroll down again, and it flipe back again....

This only happens when the reply box is open.

So far I've tried TIOAO.

Changing browsers.

Changing keyboards.

FAIL.

Top right, on the sort of toolbox or toolbar thing, there is an icon that looks like a piece of paper, "(portrait") which is called "Compatibility View".

Click that, job done.
