Title: RSQ - <insert witty title here>
Post by: Cf on January 28, 2014, 12:28:06 AM
Rules:

The score for each question is the number of people who give that answer.

The most popular answer is the sheep.

Incorrect answers receive the sheep score plus 5 points.

Lowest score wins.

Using Google is not allowed.

You may choose to pass on up to two questions and will score 0 points for those questions. You may NOT pass the final two questions.

PM your answers to me by 5pm Monday 3rd February. The reveal will then take place at 8pm.

Please note that if a question asks for a country I am using the Pointless definition: a sovereign state which is a member of the U.N.

1) Name a country which uses the Euro.

2) Name a film in which Daniel Radcliffe has appeared.

3) Name a fruit which is red or green.

4) Name a current British car manufacturer.

5) Name a country whose vowels go in order. (e.g. "Hello" = eo = fine, "Goodbye" = "ooe" = not fine, "Banana = "aaa" = fine)

6) Name a casino table game.

7) Name a UK motorway which is 100 miles or more in length.

8 ) Name a video game which appeared as one of Charlie Brooker's 25 games that changed the world.

9) Name a currently running quiz show on any BBC/ITV/C4 channel that airs between 2pm-9pm. I will accept shows not on at the moment as long as a new series has been confirmed for the future and at least one series has aired already.

NO PASSING THE FINAL TWO QUESTIONS

10) Name a chemical element which begins with a vowel.

11) For each of these items choose whether they should be stored in the fridge or in a cupboard.

a) Chocolate Biscuits
b) Ketchup
c) Chocolate Bars
d) Eggs

Good luck!

Could you explain Q11 please?

each item is either/or answer and we have to suggest which will be the answer with the lowest incidence, fridge or cupboard?

Seems an odd question for a quiz format that requires multiple possible answers to work most efficiently?

This.

And I was wondering for question 5, could you just pick a country with one vowel in it or is that not allowed?

Q6 doesn't say whether it actually has to be a casino table game. We just have to give one a name. So possible answers include:

- Snuggle up
- Crumpled Bugle
- Otter Whack
- Spin the Static
- Domiplunk

You get the idea.

It's like you've actually tried to mess the questions up.

I don't say this often/ever, but could we get smashedagain on day release for this quiz, just to highlight how bad it is?

Will be in when I've recovered from shock.

For 11 I want (e.g.)

c) cupboard
d) fridge

why?

50% go fridge, 50% go cupboard?

the question achieves nothing.

very odd

i entered anyway :-)

I am trying to follow ruud's effort at having a somewhat random final question.

Also any: 1 vowel is fine as its obviously in order. A lot of answers to this question.

Tal: It should be obvious what I'm after. The current entrants have all understood :)

11) For each of these items choose whether they should be stored in the fridge or in a cupboard.

a) Chocolate Biscuits
b) Ketchup
c) Chocolate Bars
d) Eggs

Certainly dug a hole for yourself with this question - that is if you hadn't already with some of the earlier ambiguous questions.

Tal: It should be obvious what I'm after. The current entrants have all understood :)

But my random question had around 40 correct answers!

Yours is literally 50/50, or is it?

Are u scoring the answer as a whole?!

So for example, FFCC is a different answer to FCFC?! Therefore there are 16 possible answers?!

If this is what u meant, very clever! If not, enjoy the get out of jail card I just handed you ;)

No. Mine has 16 answers.

Wiki: The term coconut can refer to the entire coconut palm, the seed, or the fruit, which, botanically, is a drupe, not a nut.

So Vauxhall would have been ok?

Without looking into it yes I'd have accepted Vauxhall provided there were no objections lol

Ok. If your answer is under the fail list here I want some evidence it exists as a table game. I've had a quick look in each case myself but nothing stood out...

The A1 is not a motorway - the (M) is added where it is upgraded - to say the A1(M) is over 100 miles long seems like bollocks to me

Which makes those parts technically motorway. Add the lengths together and it comes over 100 miles. The part outside Leeds is just over 50 miles itself I think.

Just caught up with this. Thanks for defending the coconut, which is definitely green.

North Korea was a correct answer though. We have had this one before - Euros are the main street currency in North Korea http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/asia-pacific/2531833.stm. Locals mainly use Euros rather than Won and tourists are not allowed to use the Won and can only use Euros, US Dollars or Renminbi. See the last section on this page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_Korean_won "The BBC reported in 2009 that in some department stores in Pyongyang, the North Korean won is not accepted; and the stores only take Japanese yen and U.S. dollars. As of November 1, 2012 most stores in North Korea take Euros and Chinese Renminbi." Can I have my points corrected please?
