UKIPT Main Event Day 1A - Single Re-Entry *

Is this right? I haven't played a UKIPT but didn't think the mains were re-entry normally. It wasn't needed last year to hit the 1million guarantee, so what is the need this year? Haven't been to dtd since last year's one I think but will happily come again for this one since it doesn't seem to clash with anything.

Just a quick heads up that we begin our online satellite program for the £1 Million Guaranteed UKIPT Nottingham tonight on PokerStars.

You can find our satellites under the 'Events > More > UKIPT' tab.

We will be running one per day until next week when we move to our full schedule of a minimum of 3 satellites per day.

pvas2: Yes we have confirmed this a single re-entry event after carefully considering player feedback on this special event. The re-entry cannot be taken on the same day and only one will be permitted.

Further on the satellite rules. First seat won has to be used for the event you qualify for in these event only sats. Subsequent seats can be  used as seat credit for any Dtd event over 250 buy in over the next 120 days

Nope, 1st one has to be played and then you get T$ for any others.  If you cant play the original they will sometimes switch it to another leg if you have a really good reason but dont think you can transfer it to anyone else.

Won my seat on Stars tonight, so am excited about that as I always like to play at DTD. Deciding what to do about the trip. One option would be flying into East Midlands on Friday morning and one bullet it, meaning I would probably get to DTD towards the end of the first level of play.

Q1: Bearing in mind I have already won my seat on Stars, if I show up in level two will I have a seat reserved for me with chips ready to go into play? Or will I reserve a seat myself when I get to the club, therefore prob be an alternate as 1c will be megabusy?
(possibly this is answered somewhere already)

Q2: Anyone recommend a minicab company to go from East Midlands Airport to DTD? Roughly how much is this likely to be?

Hi Bergeroo,

If you qualify/buy-in on PokerStars then you will have a seat reserved but not allocated for you when you arrive.

You will need to collect your ticket from the PokerStars welcome desk by the entrance and you will then be entered into the seat draw at the DTD Cash desk. You will receive a full stack should you arrive within the late registration period (6 levels).

I've used the quoted taxi number several times in the past and they have always been reliable and reasonably priced.

There is now no UKIPT Final next Monday

All the feeders run as normal this week and players are playing for £500 seats.

If they win a £50 and want to use for UKIPT then you will be able to after this week.

Hi Guys,

I've a Travelodge available for 3 nights (Thursday 8th, Fri 9th and Sat 10th May), I booked this however have since won a package. I've offered it to Scrote (Dan Carter) however I believe he's unsure if he's heading over from Holland for the festival.

I always book this Travelodge (Riverside) when I play at DTD as it's ridiculously close to DTD (about a mile), has free parking and you don't have to faff about driving into the centre every night.

For the 3 nights it cost me £139 (Thursday - £30, Friday - £42, Saturday - £67). I got these prices on their saver rate so I'm unable to cancel/get a refund.

If anyone is interested then let me know, I'm open to offers.

How many 1 hour levels we play on day 1 of this?  I looked on the structure on the festival page on dtd website but no mention of when the days break from day 1 to day 2.  With breaks what's the rough estimated finish time of a day 1 given a 12 noon start?

We will be playing 10 levels on Day 1 with a dinner break at around 6:30pm and play finishing around midnight.

There will also be 15 minute breaks every 2 hours.

I've emailed everyone with £1K + offering them the chance to pre reg. It means you will be in from the start but GTE's you'll be sat straight away.

Please just reply to that if you wanna pre reg.

The next stage is to set up PART PAYMENT shop buy ins for players who have £250-£750 to make the part payment and then pre reg.

if I had to choose between Glasgow Edinburgh or Newcastle to play in same comp I would choose Newcastle every time even with the extra travel

Running these UKIPT live sats is optional for the card rooms, i.e. its not a DTD/Genting decision, for players that dont have a sat near them, speaking to local card room is best way to get a sat near you. Cheers Aces

Hi Glen.

I was playing the 8k comp and waiting to late reg / re buy /add on for the satellite.

Just as the tournament went into the add on break my screen locked up (both comps) for a minute or two. It was no determent to the 8k comp because we were on a break, but it did cause me to miss the last reg for the satty, which again was no real problem because I obviously had no money invested.

I assumed that the glitch was caused by a lot of people late reg'ing, re buying and adding on at the same time.

Baez Tops First Flight as UKIPT Nottingham’s Day 1a Concludes

Nottingham, UK - 7 May

Day 1a of the £1,000 + £100 UKIPT Nottingham Main Event is in the bag, and so are the 184,800 chips amassed by overnight leader Mauricio Baez. Baez, 27, is a professional player specialising in cash games. He has lived in Madrid for seven years, but is now hoping to capture his first live tournament title here in the UK. Following closely are Ben Vinson (180,100) and Ben Mayhew (134,900), both of whom finalled the UKIPT4 Nottingham 6-Max Main Event - the latter winning it. Also in good shape after ten levels of play are Alex Spencer (171,900), Vasile Cosmin Stancu (153,400) and Enzo Gomez (139,700). Team PokerStars Pro Jake Cody also made it through the day with 70,000 chips.

Today’s first flight brought 175 players to Dusk Till Dawn to compete for a share in a prizepool guaranteed at £1,000,000. They’ll have been aware that should the worst happen (as it did to players such as Julian Thew, Rick Trigg, Ian Simpson, Dara O’Kearney and Simon Deadman) the option remained – for the first time in a UKIPT Main Event - to re-enter once more on either Day 1b (tomorrow) or 1c (Friday).

UKIPT UPDATE 6AM: Today we need all players at DTD to be patient. The PokerStars and DTD team have been and will be working hard 4 you all - non stop - we know it's backs against the walls time with so many players wanting to participate.

You can really help us by not moaning or kicking up a fuss, we have the marquee with plenty of seating which never seems to ever get used no matter how busy we are - please chill in there and just accept it's gonna be one of those busy days.

We really need the support of the players today cause the staff are going to be under immense pressure.

What we will promise to players is that if we do this Pokerstars UKIPT £1M event again - we will go to the extra expense of licensing an additional marquee on the other side of the DTD building with an extra 30 + tables and bar facilities etc taking our capacity up to 720 per day. This will help us make the event bigger, better and more comfortable for everyone in the future.

Duncan McLellan Wins Second UKIPT Title and £202,372 at Dusk Till Dawn

Nottingham, UK - 12th May

Duncan McLellan has won the £1,000 + £100 UKIPT Nottingham Main Event, the richest in the history of the tour, after the most explosive final table action ever seen on UKIPTLive wrapped up the final day in 3 hours 49 minutes. This marks his second victory on the tour in seven months.

People tuning in to the livestream today were treated to some of the most aggressive play performed on a final of a major event, especially one where the largest shares of a £1,223,000 total prizepool were to be awarded. Start of day chip leader Willie Elliot nearly doubled his stack by pure showdown-free aggression in the first level of play, including some power moves that left even McLellan backing off his trademark huge check-raises.

It was not to last, however. After the early all-in-preflop eliminations of shortest-stacked players Ramey Shiao and Anthony Flynn, Angelo Milioto started to climb. He first doubled through Day 3 chip leader Juan "el bigotes" (the Moustache) Benito and then busted Ryan Spittles (5th for £51,700) to build his stack into a dangerous one. Benito, meanwhile, had not recovered from the damage caused by Milioto and went out on a flip (his A-K staying behind McLellan’s pocket nines, all in preflop) in 6th place.

With these two opponents gaining ground, and then overtaking him, Elliot kept his foot on the accelerator, and went out in dramatic fashion, battling McLellan along the streets as a board rolled out Ac-2c-8h-Ah-Ad. McLellan had checked his A-3 on the turn (the pot already 1.8 million), and then led out with his quads on the river, only to find Elliot moving all-in! A snap-call later and the final table had a new monster chip leader.

With more than double the chips of his nearest opponent three-handed, McLellan figured that deal talk could wait until the next break. It was unfortunate for Trevor Pearson that he promptly busted in third, running an unlucky A-J into a seemingly unstoppable McLellan’s A-K.

Heads up, a deal was done between McLellan and Milioto, leaving £34,000 left to play for. This stage of the final table lasted no longer than the others, McLellan soon making a straight with 8c-7c on the turn (the board 5-6-6-4) after Milioto flopped three sixes. Father of three (and online qualifier on PokerStars) Milioto – who’d promised his kids 10% of his winnings – picked up £143,728, while the title and top prize of £202,372 went to the man on form McLellan.

Picking up his trophy, bricklayer McLellan said, “It’s been hard work, but it’s fantastic – I’m thrilled. But it’s just a weekend away, a few beers – I’ll be at work tomorrow, 8 o’clock, on the scaffold.”

Of his relentless playing style, he added, “You can’t win unless you put the chips over the line!” wrapping up succinctly his bulldozer-like attack on the 1,058-runner tournament.
