Title: Super 50 preflop spot Post by: Junior Senior on February 12, 2014, 07:14:35 PM From this weekend. Super50 at dusk. Basically plays for most as a 150 triple chance with buyin plus two reloads any time. Its one level after reloads have finished and i have 17k despite being in for the full allocation of 30k. Average is 26k. Blinds are 300-600 a50 on a 30 mins clock. We will go to 400-800 in 4 minutes. Table is straightforward pretty abc. No massive stacks, couple of tiny ones.
We are 8 handed. UTG+2 opens to 1500 out of a 11k stack. He has been pretty tight, is visibly frustrated at being card dead. Didnt take either reload and complaining about running bad all game. Looks to me a little scared to go to war. Looks miserable but is trying and seems to consider his actions, knows a few guys that pass by and is wearing blue blood poker hoodie or shirt. He plays regularly and have seen him a few times before. I have to assume he has a decent grasp of the game. UTG+3 flats. He likes to flat in position. Has been a bit splashy and loose. He has about 40k. Don't know him and Not really rating him so far and has card racked himself to a decent stack. Range is wide but mostly weighted to ax and paint hands with small pairs thrown in too. UTG+4 thinks fuck it its live i am gonna flat too. I think he only flats as the guy next to him did. Again, range is wide. Never seen him before. I am on the button with Tc Td I have 17k. I have been reasonably active in position, not been playing great though and have been caught bluffing on two occasions in the first 6 levels and made one bad call early on too for 1/5 stack. I have tried to settle in for a grind post break but just cant get any momentum. Wwyd? Title: Re: Super 50 preflop spot Post by: George2Loose on February 12, 2014, 07:17:24 PM Jam
Title: Re: Super 50 preflop spot Post by: gs08bjohnson on February 13, 2014, 01:26:52 AM yeah I jam too, wouldn't love getting it in vs the opener if nobody had peeled, would be very close from your description of him, but with the dead money in there it has to go in now I think.
Title: Re: Super 50 preflop spot Post by: corkeye on February 13, 2014, 07:20:25 AM I jam too, so much dead money in the middle, good chance of getting heads up with original raiser who oftenchasvtwo over cards to us.

Title: Re: Super 50 preflop spot Post by: Junior Senior on February 13, 2014, 06:42:43 PM Thanks guys. I did jam quickly and he tank called eventually with AJ which I was surprised about but suppose he reasoned he could be ahead and getting a good price against my range. I didn't think there were other legitimate options but though would line check it any way.
Title: Re: Super 50 preflop spot Post by: willrobrobu on February 14, 2014, 02:10:48 PM how much deeper do you guys wanna be before you are 3betting instead of jamming? or if yr any deeper do you flat instead?
i would normally 3b here i think.. he cant be that tight if he calls off almost 30bb with AJ Title: Re: Super 50 preflop spot Post by: Junior Senior on February 14, 2014, 02:57:44 PM It's only a 18bb call off which was my effective shove given stacks. I wouldn't be ripping in my stack in isolation against a standard open from a tight 30bb stack

Title: Re: Super 50 preflop spot Post by: wazz on February 27, 2014, 10:52:12 AM Thanks guys. I did jam quickly and he tank called eventually with AJ which I was surprised about but suppose he reasoned he could be ahead and getting a good price against my range. I didn't think there were other legitimate options but though would line check it any way. Given descriptions in your shoes I would be jamming any pair and the occasional hand AJ dominates. Think he should be folding AT (though that's close) but AJ is a good call. As he has the strongest range out of anyone to enter the pot so far, effective stacks with him are the most important. Our 3bet sizing and range will vary hugely from a minraise from late position vs a 2.5x from early position that has been called in two spots. In the latter scenario I'd like to be about 40bbs effective with everyone before I consider making a 3b that's not all-in. |
