Title: UKPC Heads Up. Post by: youthnkzR on February 12, 2014, 09:33:19 PM Just wondered what the deal with this is. Very unlikely I play but heard players have to arrange matches themselves or something?
Title: Re: UKPC Heads Up. Post by: TightEnd on February 12, 2014, 09:52:11 PM Indicate interest/buy in at club. A draw is done and shown on a board at club all week. Games played when both participant's are available. Not arranged by yourselves.
Title: Re: UKPC Heads Up. Post by: lucky_scrote on February 12, 2014, 09:56:42 PM What are the chances of it going ahead? TBH I'd love to play it if the numbers will be any good otherwise it's just going to be a ton of really good players involved and that's it.
Title: Re: UKPC Heads Up. Post by: TightEnd on February 12, 2014, 10:00:37 PM No suggestion it won't go ahead....would think over 50 entries myself. Whole week is going to be packed, plenty will play
Title: Re: UKPC Heads Up. Post by: pleno1 on February 12, 2014, 10:10:36 PM I think it needs to be abit clerer. If the draw is up on Tuesday and then people come on Thursday can they register? When will the final day he?
Think Dtd need to just come out and say - last chance to reg at x time - draw will be at y time - players have x hours to play their game - last game will be on y day -'here is the structure I would be really great to have this. Event run but for hu the simple act is you have to be a little organized. What if James from burnley doesn't know frank from Southampton? How are they going to "set up a match" if one is playing in the PLO and one playing day 1b of the main and Rees no time what happens. Etc etc etc Title: Re: UKPC Heads Up. Post by: TightEnd on February 12, 2014, 10:35:38 PM I can help with structure
they are all coming out tomorrow HEADS - UP Clock: 4 x 15 then 20 30,000 CHIPS SB BB 1 75 150 2 100 200 3 150 300 4 200 400 5 300 600 6 400 800 7 500 1,000 8 600 1,200 9 800 1,600 Title: Re: UKPC Heads Up. Post by: lucky_scrote on February 12, 2014, 10:41:24 PM Pads has it right, we need to know the last time of registration and when we are expected to play the first game.
It's tricky because if the last time you can reg is on weds evening and I play day 1b and go on to final the main (this is getting really far-fetched now) then the whole tournament won't get completed. You can't expect someone to come out of a 10 hour day of tournament poker to go play heads up. Secondly, can I recommend changing the HU structure. Of course it's just a suggestion but starting with 30k chips and having 15 minute levels of small increments is going to take quite a long time. Changing the blind levels from 15 minutes to 20 minutes would be a good idea in anything but heads up because in normal tournaments it's nice to increase the amount of play and deepen the stacks later on but there isn't the same effect in heads up poker. If it gets to the point where the HU match get's crap shooty it's going to be 20bb's each and 2 hours 40 minutes into the match without breaks with your blind level increase. At this point I would have already wanted it to get to 20bb's (the amount of bb's you end up having in a lot of HU matches anyway) an hour ago and get the thing over with. Just my 2c. I expect most games will be played Sat / Sun - we have plenty of dealers to facilitate. Structure as per Tighty'spost - All rounds the same until final which will be best of 3. With the Overall Leaderboard prize and a gold bracelet for the winner I have no doubt of it going ahead :) ACES Title: Re: UKPC Heads Up. Post by: pleno1 on February 13, 2014, 03:07:51 AM Ok cool, that really really helps a lot Simon, thanks. I figured games were starting earlier and had people asking me to buy them in and querying what to do so this helps alot.
I guess everything revolves around dealers too, if theres 32 matches and everybody wants to play at the same time then it would ofc be impossible. I guess alot of matches will happen on day 1b of the 6max. Thanks again for your post, appreciate it. Title: Re: UKPC Heads Up. Post by: Pinchop73 on February 13, 2014, 09:17:09 AM Match no.3.
