http://www.101greatgoals.com/blog/incredible-fair-play-werders-aaron-hunt-gets-the-referee-to-reverse-a-bremen-penalty-call-v-nurnberg/ Wonder if he'd have been so honest if it was 0-0 or they were losing 1-0? Was he right to admit it wasn't a penalty in terms of fair play, but could he also be criticised for not doing the 'professional' thing? I think it was good to see. The other argument is that because he's half-English, he'd have missed the penalty anyway... There have been isolated examples over the years (Klose admitted he'd scored with his hand, and there was the Fowler one against Seaman), but as professionals surely they have some sort of obligation to their employers to not try to persuade the ref that they shouldn't have a goal or a penalty, etc.? |
