Title: Cheltenham Day 1 Post by: Kmac84 on March 10, 2014, 11:46:13 PM What we all on and how much are we planning on losing?
I love Cheltenham, it makes me all gooey inside. If I can get through day 1 relatively unscathed and lok in a profit I am hopeful. If we do it in all on day 1 its going to be a long week. My selections fwiw. Race 1 - Gilgamboa - £25 e/w at 11/1 and Irving £50 win with Paddy (offer whore) will no doubt have a few others with Hills tomorrow. Race 2 - Trifolium and Dodging Bullets - I have backed both to win @ 9/2 and 11/2 (more than I really should on both) Race 3 - Mafilleule e/w @ 25/1, Vintage Star e/w @ 16/1 and Fruityorooney @ 28/1 (£5e/w all 3) Race 4 - Will be laying The Fly. I wanted to be with The New One but the price is contracting, also contemplating backing Jezki and if I can get on with 3six5 I will have a dash @ 10/1 Race 5 - Laying Quevega - Can't see her doing 6 as much as I'd love to. Won't be laying for much. Race 6 - Midnight Prayer @ 9/1 Race 7 - Present View & Close House (not bet these yet will see what the lay of the land is tomorrow) I'll be having a combination of Lucky 15's, 31's and 63's with the above (and will prob fire in Highland Retreat & Glens Melody to fill them up. Good luck with whatever you are backing and here is hoping we don't go busto. Rare of me to not check my post, either before or immediately after posting. Title: Re: Cheltenham Day 1 Post by: BigAdz on March 11, 2014, 08:10:25 AM Good luck to Ralph, who has adopted the same blind faith in the aging Fly as he has in an aging Arsene Wenger ;)

Just place the bet with a bookies that gives you BOG mate, and then you've got the best of both worlds. I'd have bought clips of his mug floating about on C4 too :D Title: Re: Cheltenham Day 1 Post by: TightEnd on March 11, 2014, 03:54:30 PM The New One wins unhampered?
Hope Our Conor is ok Title: Re: Cheltenham Day 1 Post by: rfgqqabc on March 11, 2014, 03:58:50 PM The New One wins unhampered? Hope Our Conor is ok Unless Our Conor would have it looked like it to my extremely untrained eye. Did they give any updates? I rewound (?) to watch the fall again, it looked nasty. Title: Re: Cheltenham Day 1 Post by: TightEnd on March 11, 2014, 04:00:30 PM still being treated.
New One got beat 2l, was hampered 5 or 6 lengths and caught up over half a second up the hill Title: Re: Cheltenham Day 1 Post by: TightEnd on March 11, 2014, 04:05:47 PM Damn
Our Conor lost, serious back injury. Title: Re: Cheltenham Day 1 Post by: Marky147 on March 11, 2014, 05:56:04 PM Shame to lose any horse, but one so young and with so much promise :(
Title: Re: Cheltenham Day 1 Post by: Marky147 on March 11, 2014, 06:10:56 PM Brendan Powell could almost have been driving a car, looking at the way he took the racing line in the last race.
Title: Re: Cheltenham Day 1 Post by: Kmac84 on March 11, 2014, 06:33:25 PM Pretty pleaseing day. Apart from the opening 2 races I done pretty well. Trying to tally up what exactly I have and where, I really need a spreadsheet and the discipline to update it.
I got Jezki at the price I wanted, I had BOG on MA FILLEULE, I layed the The Fly, also laid Quevega :-( but having read this thread agains this morning followed Glens Melody and Highland retreat e/w and w/o Quevega. Saddened about Our Connor obviously devastating for connections. Title: Re: Cheltenham Day 1 Post by: Marky147 on March 11, 2014, 06:51:20 PM Present View got me out of it including my AP bets, but Mullins mugged me out of a good winning day with his ride on Suntiep.
Title: Re: Cheltenham Day 1 Post by: Kmac84 on March 11, 2014, 07:47:52 PM Just logged into Stakes and Ladders there and I have done well in a few of their pools as well. Actually turned into a very good day.
