I'm pleased to say we are going to freshen up Poker 425 by adding some more stuff. More "in-depth" interviews - we only did 5 or 6,  they were all well received, so we plan to try & do one a week with almost immediate effect, starting this weekend at Brighton, where the "subject" has already been nominated. We will continue the theme of doing these away from the Casino, they work better that way if we are doing serious in-depth jobbies.

And, whisper it quietly, but it's 90% certain it will become an hour long programme very soon, to accommodate the extra items planned, of which there are several. Just hope I'm still on board by then!

Yup, straight off the cruise, straight to the Studio.

Docked Miami 6am Monday. Disembarked (= got off) at 10am, we spent the next 8 hours killing time in a shopping mall, before catching the 17.10 BA 747 to Heathrow, landed 0610 Tuesday. Had to drive up to Derbyshire to get changed & meet the cats, was home for 45 minutes, then the train back to London. Got back home 11pm, last night! I need a holiday now.......

tikay can you phone wormster or someone in the know and ask if its ok if i share this weeks show accross the net infact if i could get permission to share the weekly show that would be good to help those people without sky or who are abroad (espically the traveling pro)

putting the link on the poker 425 website and me not meesing up and getting it in some big torrent search sites could get a hundred plus downloads

going to see if i can make it a dixv file too that should help

It is on the Poker 425 website already (www.poker425.com) - because they carry our Forum.

Ironside, you should be able to make it smaller - full quality episodes of the new series of 24 are only around 8.5 Meg a minute in size on the torrent sites.

You can do more than that, when shorthanded, an offer of help would always be appreciated.

cant see it only being 8.5 meg for a 45 minute show though
infact at 8.5 meg for an hour show the quailty must be pretty poor or they have some great new codec

It would be more useful quoting the bitrate though rather than size/minute.

The Dummy has just pointed out to me that there is NOT a Thewy Interview on tonight's 425. Seems I got confused after watching "last week's" edition when I got home from the studio. It's an age thing.

As Tikay as pointed out, this week's show runs to 50 mins - I've noticed that the EPG on Sky doesn't reflect that tonight so for anyone using SKY+ record the programme after Poker425 as well.

i am hoping this is recording straight onto my machine it seemed to be working but now i am getting no audio so i hope its all ok if it doesnt work i will try again later

ok while captureing the show tonight i messed up and the audio went down half way (due to me quadraupling the size of the capture to over 4 gig infact thats an under estimate as it was 4 gig at the break)

i did however record it on sky plus and although i asked my sky+ to record 10 minutes at the end of the show it missed the ending where tikay and nohair were takling about the grandprix

so i have to options to re capture the show and put it up minus the last 2 minutes

or spend tomorrow experimenting with it and then capturing the full show at 11pm and getting a nice smaller and complete file

which would you guys prefer

Phil Peters is a facinating bloke

Work and Phil decided they didn't like each other many years ago, since then he has made a living from gambling in one form or another

He is now very big in spread betting, Channel 4 made a documentry about him a while ago called 'Red lorry yellow lorry' it's repeated occaisionaly

On the first day of filming he was still in bed when the crew arrived, so he did the show unwashed, unshaven, and in his dressing gown, they thought he was an eccentric crackpot, so he did the same every day for a week

The problem was, he did his bollox, didn't win a bet the entire week they were there, wich did nothing to dispel the illusion

Phil is actually very successful, a true gent, and a very funny man

One interesting piece in there was Tikay's comments regarding deals and ranking points.

He suggested that a 'saver' would be considered as a deal with regard to ranking points.  However, surely this would mean, for example, that the £1,000 saver on the bubble at Luton last week would result in everyone getting 18th placed points (i.e. zero).

I'm sure that many similar 'deals' will be struck across the calendar year and it would surely make a mockery of the rankings if this rule were to be applied.  However, with regard to Tikay's comments, this is where the 1st deal was struck!

I'm not, for one instant, suggesting that points should be taken in this instance.  I'm just highlighting the impact of the interpretation that Tikay put forward last night.

If the Saver had taken place when the Final began, it would have been classed as a "deal". But with 18 left, tht's not, imo, a "deal" that affects Ranking Points, as they only go to the Finalists.

But feel free to e-mail Jon Shoreman if you need the "official" position. It's nothing to do with me, I just decided to mention it, &, as it happens, I DO report any Deals I witness.

Thanks for the clarification Tikay.  This seems a more reasonable view to take than the way I'd originally interpreted it.

I just explained it wrong on the show. We are always under time presure, & tend not to give enough time to any given subject, hence corners get cut & I don't express myelf properly.

I also made another boo-bo on the show this week, which only one blonde has thus far commented upon.

I said "nobody makes money out of Tourneys only". Of course that's just not true. I should have said "not very many....."

I watch the show again last night, and had to laugh at an interveiw with one of the other players in the other tournment that was covered, i think he finished 5th, and sounded french, he had a bad case of hickups, half way though the interview probley been on the bubbly :cheers: it just made me giggle.
