Title: What would you do? Post by: GlennDuskTillDawn on March 14, 2014, 10:49:47 AM And did I do the worst of it like the rest of the table berated me for?
£50 comp: Blinds are 200/400. We are 9 handed. UTG who is shortest stack has 15BB and limps. Its a £50 comp so 5 others follow suit. Pretty standard £50 comp field (including myself) many recreational players. Everyone else in the pot is around 40bb average including us. We wake up in the Big Blind with them Aces. How much do we make it? Title: Re: What would you do? Post by: TightEnd on March 14, 2014, 10:54:07 AM live or online?
how many runners, how far off the money? does anyone else in the pot cover you? how many of the limpers are calling squeezes/3 bets in previous hands? more info would be good :-) Title: Re: What would you do? Post by: millidonk on March 14, 2014, 10:57:50 AM 1700
Edit misread 5 came along. 2100 Title: Re: What would you do? Post by: rfgqqabc on March 14, 2014, 10:59:37 AM 2.3k, try and find a witty line about limpers tax too imo
Title: Re: What would you do? Post by: GlennDuskTillDawn on March 14, 2014, 11:06:49 AM live or online? how many runners, how far off the money? LIVE :) does anyone else in the pot cover you? 2 players in the pot cover me but we are all roughly average. how many of the limpers are calling squeezes/3 bets in previous hands? Id say 75% of three bets are getting through but this was only ever v 1 or 2 opponents. Was bizzare to see them alll come along after a UTG limp from a guy with 15 bigs. Title: Re: What would you do? Post by: dakky on March 14, 2014, 11:58:10 AM 2.4k (so they can just flick in 2k more)
Title: Re: What would you do? Post by: BorntoBubble on March 14, 2014, 12:01:30 PM If UTG limper has exactly 15BB and has limped i have to raise under half of his remaining stack so that i can raise if he jams and it gets flatted behind. Im probably making it like 2.6K ish dont really mind anything up to like 3k ish once you get one caller in this there all coming along so may as well charge as much as possible
Title: Re: What would you do? Post by: Rod on March 14, 2014, 12:45:38 PM I assume antes are not in play?
Was thinking the same as above. I think live we can often get away with making it 4K and getting a couple of callers. 3k is probably a better amount though. I think ideally we only want 1 or 2 callers as even though it is technically more profitable to get them all call. If we make it 3K and get 2 callers then we have a good chance of being able to profitable bet lot's of flops and shove lot's of turns getting called by worse. If we raise and UTG shoves then we obviously just shove over the top of any callers. Are we anywhere near the bubble? Doubt it matter's too much though at this stage. Title: Re: What would you do? Post by: pleno1 on March 14, 2014, 01:03:06 PM 2k straight.

Post by: Rexas on March 14, 2014, 01:43:28 PM 2.4k (so they can just flick in 2k more) ^^ That imo. Also, on the subject of being berated afterwards, 1) They're your cards, you get them dealt to you and you pay your money to have that happen, you have every right to jam/minraise here if you want to :p and 2) DO THEY KNOW WHO YOU ARE :) Title: Re: What would you do? Post by: mulhuzz on March 14, 2014, 01:54:50 PM People don't like folding.
Announce 'squeeze' and make it 3400 and don't plan on folding any runouts :D Make sure you pick up 2X 1k chips and almost put them in and then go back to your stack for 1 more. Title: Re: What would you do? Post by: pleno1 on March 14, 2014, 03:02:35 PM 3400 way way too big.
Title: Re: What would you do? Post by: youthnkzR on March 14, 2014, 03:44:34 PM Roughly 2k - 2.5k.
Title: Re: What would you do? Post by: Pinchop73 on March 14, 2014, 03:55:14 PM After attempting to look at each villain in the eye one by one, slowly place all your change over the line to amount to a total of 2100c. Once said action is complete, stare down each and every villain as action gets to them. Call the first one of them to fold a poof in a stern, deep menacing voice. Proceed accordingly
Title: Re: What would you do? Post by: mulhuzz on March 14, 2014, 04:34:21 PM 3400 way way too big. It really isn't. People just aren't folding any hand for 3400 that they call 2100 for in some live bowl. Title: Re: What would you do? Post by: George2Loose on March 14, 2014, 04:52:36 PM 3400 way way too big. Yeh they are agreed, 3400 seems bigggg, plus we have aces, maybe make it slightly bigger with AK or Js etc? Like the 2-2.4k mark. Title: Re: What would you do? Post by: mulhuzz on March 14, 2014, 07:06:40 PM also acceptable is to make it one chip of every colour in play and announce 'rainbow'
Title: Re: What would you do? Post by: titaniumbean on March 14, 2014, 08:10:45 PM surely answer is to look and see what chip denominations the limper has, so you don't bet an amount he cant call in his change, who wants to break up a large chip lol.
dem old school pro tactics. |
