We got an indirect flight with our local travel agent and 5 nights in Luxor as we are tight fkers !!
Arrived late at night , after check in straight out on the roller coaster at New York New York
Walked to the bellagio oohing n a aaahhing at it all
Next morning played blackjack whilst in a q for breakfast buffet , i seem to remember winning and ignoring the q
Some how ended up in cheetahs a lap dancing club made semi famous by Demi Moore film showgirls pre rhino and sapphire days
Went to the porn convention at the Venetian
Got drunk in the hilton at the Star Trek exhibition with some Americans
More cheetahs n black jack
After 2 days of walking the fat bits at the top of my thighs were redder than the fire box on Casey jones express steam train !!
No poker or roulette at all
Bizarrely we won at black jack n 3 card poker much to the stripoers delight as every afternoon we paid the deposit on their cars
We were hooked

Started watching Espn wsop coverage late at night on TV after drinking benders after all we could play 3 card brag n pontoon
Indeed we had been doing so for years especially down the pub after a few !
Deceided that's looks easy lets have a go ? Come on be honest ? Was that anybody else ??
Started playing in a pub graduated to 10£ rebuys in Riley's
Bizarrely won a few !!
Met some great people
Tried our luck at other places
But always in your mind was that place

we worked we saved we won a bit
we were single
we came back not as green or turnip looking as before or so we thought ???

Staying at the Excalibur one year - yes another cheapie ! Surprisingly tho the rooms were fine with big solid beds a good steak house ; a mcdonalds for breakfast only draw back was lots of families with young kids
Playing cash in the early hours I get 44 with a 4-9-4 flop and about 200$ in front of me on a 9 turn the other player goes all in ?
Ok I call he turns over 99 for quads as well
We split a 2700$ progressive bad beat jackpot 40% to me 20% to him rest to the other players
Manager also gets me an itin number
Later some body points out that in palace st station casinos the bad beat jackpot was 165,000$
So I guess it really was a bad beat ???

First trip was in 2006, which was a last minute thing, and it had was definitely a culture shock that included a lot of firsts!

A couple of them...

First/Only time I've played the main event
First time I've been 'roofied'
First time that I paid £300 for a bottle of Vodka
First time seeing a £15k bar bill in a club

I landed at about 9pm, where I had been booked into Hooters, and obviously they wouldn't let me check in without a credit card. I tried to give cash, but they insisted I needed a card for the room. I'm not sure if the guy just didn't like the look of me, or if he'd had a shit day and wanted to annoy someone who had been travelling for 24 hours. For whatever reason is was, it worked, and I had to hang around until the old man (who had flown out earlier in the week) drove over to give me one of his cards.

Next stop was the Wynn to meet the lads from London who had travelled out with Virgin on the same day as me. This was the first WTF moment of the trip, as I had actually thought 'This is just like a Holiday Inn, but with better food. Can't be bad' when I left Hooters!

This lot were plotted up in a Salone Suite with an adjoining room on the same floor as some Basketball player, and I had never seen a hotel, or hotel room like it. It was definitely a massive eye opener, as was the trip to Cheetahs the same night :D

We enter a Venetian deep stack a lunch time jobbie
Ivor has won a 7 pm crapshoot as I tell him
So he's cock of the walk n I'm not
I announce to him pre tourney I'm playing fast n loose

Scandi play is over rated 2 hands into a deep stack n I'm out
At the end of a losing week I'm mildly distraught at do king off so much with no wins
Then a bit of Vegas magic happens !!!

I put 500$ on a 2/5$ cash game
Confidence is zero
But optimism is still there
After 8 days of tourneys cash drink n late nights
I'm knackered eyes are red ,I keep yawning
By 8/830 pm I have 3500$ in front of me
Ivors out of the lunch time deep stack
But playing and doing well in the 7 pm
So I cash out 3 k $ up
Quite pleased with that
He's doing well despite being 60% gin n 40% tonic red eyed n knackered too
After watching I look round n spy a steady 1/2$ Omaha game
Figure fk it I will have 300$ in it
As standing around is boring
It's a good game 6/7 handed
About 11 pm 3 guys 1 lady show up exclaim what's this ?
Ooohhh it's like Holden with 4 cards lol
They've had a few n 2 of em sit down to play
Well they got beat 7 different wats to Xmas
As they were a bit pissed one of em got a roll of notes out to choke a donkey
I'm not kidding it was like a loo roll of 100$ bills
After somebody with 2 pair hit a gut shot.v his set he went mad
Result was I got 309$ up to 3500$
Ivor unbelievably came 2/3 rd
Off we went to the bellagio

Got back to the bellagio 2/3 am I guess very tired but Ivors attitude was It's our last night lets make it a late one
So we found our selves at a roulette wheel and had a 200$ syndicate between the 2 of us

I got that up to 4k $ Ivor took his 2 k $ and went to play craps .personally I've not got the hang of it but I'm all for hanging round n having a beer with a bit of whooping n cheering thrown in for good measure
Don't donk that 2 k was his words as he left
one of the chips was a yellow 1 k one so I set that as my stop loss
Soon I was down to 2 black 100$ chips and the yellow one
Stuck one on number 6 my daughters birthday and the other one on black fk knows why as I never do red or black !
Mentally switched the 6 magnet on in my head BOOM in it came
So I went and cashed out 4600$ with the 6k earlier I was up 1600$ basically the cost of the trip
Then it was a few drinks n bed
Dossed at the pool in the morn before leaving
One thing about the bellagio is the pool area it's so nice
Then there's the buffet too that's pretty good too
But after 3/4 visits we opted for somewhere else next time

Here's a quick look at the nightmare side of Vegas

Head out to bus stop to get the dtx downtown express to premium outlet mall
We are at the bus stop with one other the bhx bus comes in ( they all look the same )
My mate asks the other guy ,does this bus go to the mall ?
Ung ugg grunt grunt is the reply
I figure we only get one window licker and we ask him for directions fml

Pretty soon we realise it's the boulder highway express ,but think it must go to a bus station / link up with the strip ?

Why don't you get off n cross over the road and get one back?I hear intelligent members ask .?
Just one look out of the windows and the people on the street tells u this is not a nice part of town ,seedy hotels/ motels peelin paint dodgy looking gangs hanging out
We realise staying on the bus is best chance of escaping with our money camera man bags 2 kidneys

There's one or 2 asleep who reek of sweat piss n drink n look filthy and I do mean filthy ingrained muck ,there's a big John coffee look a like who keeps giving us the eye thankfully he gets off soon ,several having a conversation with their selves ,staring round wildly ,there's also a few normal looking folk avoiding eye contact / looking at floor
We get off down the road 50 mins into this journey as it's quietened down / not so many loonys left cross over the road get one back to the bus station
And do the journey in reverse with similar cargo it's obv the bad end of town thankfully the strip/ downtown looms in the distance and a casino with big neon sign lady luck it proclaims
Obv lady luck has not been Good to these folk
We exhale sharply breathe a huge sigh of relief when we get to the bus station

More about the people on the bus
2 stops into our journey a youngish (25) black guy gets on sits next to somebody he obv knows

Inside for a year ,nearly never got out had a problem with some guy had to shank ( knife him) but got away with it ,got out bitch changed the locks threw all my clothes out ,got arrested when I went to kill her ?? On my own now trying to get my shit together Trying to stay clean too ( I assumed he meant drugs !)
I got this serial shanker behind me if he knew I had 1k$ and 500£ in my bag I'd be getting a shanking ,thankfully he got off the bus soon
The guy I'm sat next to stinks and I mean stinks of sweat ,keeps getting these small religious pamphlets out reading em like they are next weeks winning lottery numbers and then talking to himself ,thankfully ignoring me!
One or 2 old lady's get on with them little walkers/ disabled trolleys with wire baskets on the front with drink in bags their hair is all over the place they look scruffy act deranged but thankfully go to the other end if the bus
We get on the return bus there's a human asleep in a seat hard to tell if it's a man or woman ,I deceide woman as has longish grey but filthy matted hair dirt streaked arms n legs ,is stick thin and has clothes on that would fit me ! ( im a fat cvnt by the way) a pair of was once white n flower patterned shorts now filthy and a filthy purple shirt that would fit tim n me ,every once in a while she wakes looks around has those bright piercing blue eyes that all nutters have ,appears to have no teeth but a rather active Tongue keeps looking at a battered old mobile n talking to herself ,eventually she gets up stands in aisle giving me n my mate weird looks ,starts scratching her tits fanny n underarm area as there s prolly a flea circus living in it ,mumbling to everybody near her all avoid looking/ acknowledging her before getting off

He knocks me outta the 3 pm tourney later raises 9 ten dd blinds 1/2 k I have 6 k left with ak n stick it in he rivers a straight ,it doesn't feel like too much of a beat tho as he really is a character
Still playing poker albeit in little turbo crap shooty affairs like the nugget but at 75 years old at least he's still enjoying his self

First time i ever went.

Was put up in the Wynn by work, it was incred.

Next day was first ever wsop event.

First table so so so so good, im like wtf this is a goldmine lol

We get split up after 3 hands and new table is fine.

4 hours into tournament I get my man bag out to give my mate some money.

Real side tis not there and left it at the table that broke initially 4 hours ago. The whole rush had got to me.

It had all my money in it for Vegas that was probably close to my net worth.

Ran back to security, nothing handed in.

2 hours later call for me on the microphone and it had been handed in, untouched.

Those last couple of bits were blogged about on another site from an august 2012 trip back to the nugget

My ex took our daughter away for a holiday so I decided to go Vegas using miles

I got a cheapie flight 2 weekends and a week in Vegas before the kids were back at school

when I told my mates I was going Craig said Alan could do with a break - they are brothers btw I've known them since I was 12 - as running the pub was doing his head in so he came with me we had a great time , while there he said something was wrong he was losing weight but put it down to stress and living off coffee n cigarettes

Being away he came to the decision to give the pub up and did so on our return

Next step go to the drs who after checking him out explained he had lung cancer very advanced too ,he had no idea ,there was no coughing or any sign whatsoever ,all that was just over 12 months ago and now his time is up sadly
But he always says what a great time we had

last year the McMillan nurse told him to go n do whatever he wanted before he got worse but he chose to spend the time with his kids

He ran the pub where the big game in peterborough was played at ,with such guys as Tim Blake Martyn Frey rob boon big Taff
Big Taff even got Andy Bradshaw nick slade plus a couple of others from the north west
then peter charalambous came once n showed us how to play cash
even marky 147 visited as a guest of tims

We even managed some debaunchery those of a sensitive nature should not read the next bit

Some of the characters you meet at the table can be pretty memorable too

One such character is /was billy from somewhere down south he spoke like boss Hogg off the dukes of hazard

He was eating some lunch and ordered cheese n fruit platter for dessert - whilst playing

The waitress came and leant right over in front of him ,as it was in the Venetian she had a great pear

Billy says in his slow drawl - miss there's 2 things I like about yew

She stands up puts one hand on her hip and asks - yeah n what's that billy ??

I'm thinking wtf is he gonna say ?

He says - well miss the first thing is you are gorgeous

And what's the second billy ?? She asks

You have a great well paid job with nice tips

She obv knew him and laughed as we all did

To another female at the table who was quite a size he says - miss you'd be real pretty if you lost a coupla pounds

She sat there open mouthed before he continued

And thered be more for me in your bed
