Title: Vegas Rollcall thread
Post by: scotty77 on May 21, 2014, 03:13:14 AM
Marky's post on the Vegas thread made me realise there hasn't been a list of when everyone is out there yet.

I'm there from 27th May - 10th July.

Hopefully will be able to get one or two blonde dinners/nights out?

A few things on golf.

The courses are in very good condition.
You really don't want to be walking around during the early afternoon out there, so teeing off at 7am is a good idea, but usually means poker players don't make it.
Hire clubs are typically brand new Calloways or Mizunos - good clubs
Virgin will carry your clubs for free
http://www.golfnow.com/lasvegas (http://www.golfnow.com/lasvegas) for solid discounts and some interesting courses
For cost, $40 is going to get you bargain basement stuff, playable, but likely a lot of traffic on the course.  $100 will get you a very nice course.  Anything much more than that is more than you need to pay, unless you are a seriously good golfer
These course are all over the place, a hire car is pretty much a must (or at least very +EV compared to a return taxi)

Golf out here is excellent, cost varies but can play exceptional golf courses for under $100. I would always bring my own, I don't get why people wouldn't. I assume they will sting you on rentals but I couldn't swear to it.

I am sure most have seen through other sources and Facebook etc, however those of you lucky enough to heading to Vegas need to take TWO forms of Id, one with an address like a diving license or a utility bill

Haven't played for 6 months but heading out on 15 June for 2 weeks of mainly Wynn/Venetin/Planet H tournies. Going to play the super monster stack wsop and a 1k the weekend before. Looking forward to getting stuck in to playing again and random betting on the world cup over a beer or two.

Where are people watching the match today?

My sole criteria are:

1. Sound on
2. An atmosphere
3. A decent view.

3pm kick off Vegas time. Suggestions welcome.

Lagasse's @ Palazzo is always lively when the football is on.

Lagasse's @ Palazzo is always lively when the football is on.

Just visited. All booked up (Booked up. A bar. Booked up...) for the England game. If you want a bar seat, it's first come first served but with a $25 minimum spend on food and drink. Lady asked whether I wanted to go in now. I asked whether that meant I would have to spend $50 with the Uruguay game on. She said yes. Bar right next door with seats right in front of the telly, then! Will make the three metre walk in an hour's time and get some food.

Right. Am in this Lagasse's. If you come here, you need a credit card to reserve your seat. If you haven't brought one because you pay cash for stuff in Vegas and you are smart enough to leave credit cards in the safe, beg for mercy ("please do not let me miss this game!") and have the barman take pity on you. He now has my club grazie card as collateral lol.

Burger and a drink took care of the pony minimum!
