Title: Best turn line for quadaroonies Post by: shipitgood on May 31, 2014, 09:19:54 PM Not sure what the best line here is, call turn lead river, or raise the turn.
4 handed, we are in the sb with 4c 4h (20nl) At start of hand we have £41ish villian has £20. UTG raises to 60p, we call. Button folds, we call, bb folds. Flop; 4d 4s Ts We check, villian bets £1 (pot is £1.40). We call. Pot is £.3.40 Turn is 5c Villian bets £1.6 just under half pot. I just called here and lead the river... What is the best line here? Was just thinking a raise would fold out so much of opponents range. Is the best line to raise the turn? Thoughs on my line in the hand:) Thanks Title: Re: Best turn line for quadaroonies Post by: muckthenuts on June 01, 2014, 01:35:04 AM Raise turn. How much of said range that you think will fold is then going to call your river lead?

He maybe calls with 66-99, and certainly is calling if he has JJ plus, 10x hands. Calling/ leading the river allows him to hero or call down a bit lighter i suppose. The player would find a call with 66-99 OTR, even big aces. Just calling also gives him the chance to hopefully improve. I know calling the turn, leading the river looks a bit counter intuitive. I think both these moves do the same thing really, they fold out very similar ranges when doing both but by raising the turn we allow ourselves to win a much bigger pot when he has a hand we can get lots of value from e.g JJ+ 10's 5's and some 10x also doesnt fold a lot of FD when we raise the turn due to how little house combos we can have. This means it allows us to get more money in the pot for bigger river vbets against his value range whilst also getting him to put more money in now with draws that when they potentially brick will put no more in but if they do hit will pay off our nut hand in a bigger way. Def get more in on the turn one way or another.

Agree raising the turn is better despite me calling. Title: Re: Best turn line for quadaroonies Post by: wazz on June 03, 2014, 01:17:53 PM No one ever leads these flops with the goods, therefore...
Sometimes villains just fold and move on but when he has anything, or when he feels like spazzing , leading gives us the best chance to take stacks. I think though if you c/c the turn (which is alrite IMO) then checking he river is the mandatory play |
